The Eastern Asia Juniors and Girls Chess Championships 2019 was held at the First Asian Institute of Technology and Humanities School in Tanauan Batangas. This event was made possible by PAGCOR, in coordination with the National Chess Federation of the Philippines, the presitigious Lima Park Hotel, monitored by the Asian Chess Federation and the Philippine Sports Commission.

Concio settles for draw

Tanauan City, Batangas---Michael Concio Jr. drew with International Master John Marvin Miciano and extend his lead after six rounds of the Eastern Asia Junior and Girls Chess Championship here at the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities College in Tanauan City, Batangas on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Concio, whose stint here is being supported by Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr. of Dasmarinas City has 5.5 followed by Miciano, reigning National Junior Champion and National Master Jeth Romy Morado and International Master elect Eric Labog Jr. with 4.5.
International Master elect Christian Mark Daluz trounced Max Dave Tellor to raise his total 4.0 points, half point ahead with International Master Gilbert Elroy Tarigan of Indonesia, defending champion International Master Daniel Quizon and Zeus Alexis Paglinawan.
In the distaff side, Woman Fide Master Ummi Fisabilillah of Indonesia toppled Alpecca Gonzales to join Woman Candidate Master Chua Jia-tien of Malaysia for the lead with 4.5 points. Chua drew with Jerlyn Mae San Diego, who has 4 points.
Also with 4 points are last year champion Woman International Master Kylene Joy Mordido, Woman Fide Master Allaney Jia Doroy, Jesca Docena and Woman Fide Master Nguyen Thi Minh Oang of Vietnam.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sponsored this tournament organized by Saturnino Belen Jr. of Active Chess Center for Asia under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation, World Chess Federation (FIDE), and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) headed by its president/chairman Deputy Speaker Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr. in cooperation with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
The Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas is the official hotel of the week-long event.
