Longlong Elementary School conducted Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) for the learners during the opening of classes for S.Y. 2024-2025 on July 29, 2024, in light of the potential impacts of the Southwest Monsoon and Super Typhoon Carina, which may adversely affect the mental health of learners.
The teachers used the Psychosocial Activity Pack developed by DRRMS as per DRRMS-07-26-24-001. These support activities are imperative in promoting, protecting, and prioritizing the learnersβ socio-emotional well-being as they transition back to in-person classes.

The Department of Education (DepEd) is optimistic about increased of proficiency levels of elementary and high school learners after completing the National Learning Camp (NLC) this month.
Some 30 learners have enrolled for the learning camp that officially began Tuesday.
βThe NLC is a national program to address the learning gaps of our learners with three separate camps on intervention, enhancement, and collaboration.
The intervention is designed for children who have not mastered a particular subject, focusing on literacy and numeracy.
Enhancement and collaboration, meanwhile, are designed to boost the skills of learners with higher academic performance.
The three-week NLC is a simultaneous program conducted nationwide for elementary and high school students.
Running until July 19, learners will be attending classes until 2:10 pm physically every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The teachers handling the camp will spend Mondays and Fridays for βcollaborative expertiseβ for best practices sharing and materials preparation.
The camp promised to incorporate fun-filled activities outside classroom instruction.
Volunteer teachers hoped to have 100 percent attendance in the camp although the first day of classes appeared to have fewer learners.
Enrollment is ongoing for SY 2024-2025.
