Nakikiisa ang AFDA sa selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Sining at kultura ng Pilipinas! Ikinagagalak namin na maging parte ng selebrasyon ang Piña sa Buwan ng Sining matapos ang inskripsyon ng Aklan Piña Handloom weaving sa List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity(Decision 18.COM 8.b.5) ng UNESCO. Ang pagtatanghal na ito at isang pagpapahalaga sa aming tradisyonal na habi at pagpapalalim ng ating pagkakakilanlan bilang isang Pilipino.

Bilang pakikiisa sa selebrasyon, ilang koleksyon ng Piña ng aming Business Manager Carlo Eliserio at Aklan Piña ManTra ang naging parte ng eksibisyon. Nagpapasalamat kami sa ating butihining Senador Loren Legarda sa walang sawang suporta at pagmamalaki sa piña. Nagpapasalamat din kami kay Senador Nancy Binay sa pagdalo sa eksibisyon. Magpapatuloy ang paghahabi ng kultura at sining sa susunod pang mga henerasyon. Maraming salamat Senador Loren Legarda at sa Pambansang Komisyon ng Kultura at Sining, Pambansang Museo ng Pilipinas, at sa Senado ng Pilipinas sa napakagandang pagtantanghal ng aming mga gawa!

In celebration of the success of the first ever Aklan Fashion Week 2023, the event has teamed up with BJMP Aklan to stitch together hope and rehabilitation.

Together with Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro, Provincial Tourism Office, Kalibo Muncipal Tourism Office, and DTI-Aklan, a 1- 4 thread edging machine, sewing materials, and textiles were turned over to Person Deprived of Liberty of Aklan District Jail-Female Dormitory. This collaboration not only benefits the inmates but also contributes to the rehabilitation efforts of the facility.

By providing Persons Deprived of Liberty access to sewing machines and materials, Aklan Fashion Week 2023 aims to empower them through the art of fashion design and other livelihood programs. AFDA’s partnerships highlights the power of fashion to bring about positive change and promote social responsibility.
