"Thinking about my actual needs (and not just stuff that I want) really helps me to appreciate what I have. It also reminds me that living simply brings me more happiness. Most of the things we buy are produced by those who have the least, and that's not a system I'm keen to support." - Brenna Quinlan
"This site is Atlanta's first Community Urban Food Forest, as well as a new model for a City of Atlanta park. The food forest will produce a wide variety of fresh, flavorful, and healthy nuts, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms, which will become available for public consumption. Located in an area identified as a food desert, the site was a working farm as recently as 2000. Neighbors still talk about the land’s former owners, Ruby and Willie Morgan, who left excess produce from their farm on fence posts for neighbors to claim and enjoy."

Hey YOUman!
If you haven't broken free from the bottle/sachets, now is the time! This is available na sa Kalibo, And you'll also save up plastic waste by using this sustainable shampoo & conditioner bar.
Usage: Wet the soap bar first. Rub it in your hair directly. Massage scalp.Use with conditioner bar. And smile for the environment 😊 Good for sensitive scalp skin because it is organic. Might have different reactions for others though. (Hiyangan)
How much should you wash your hair? Every other day, or every 2 to 3 days is better. If hair is visibly oily, scalp is itching, or there's flaking due to dirt, these are signs to wash.
Some would transition period(i think i had 1 week for that) when they use commercial hair products, i think the first tries will seem like it failed. I suggest you stop the commercial one and keep using the natural it. Your hair will adjust as you continuously use it.
Storage: Avoid soaking it. Store it in a cool and dry place. When you use it for bathing, make sure you don't immerse it in the water coz they will melt faster. Look for a container with holes so it can drain.💚

🌹 How to make toothpaste at home 🪥 🦷
There are other three ways to make home-made toothpaste.
❤️ 1. Toothpaste with baking soda and water
Take one teaspoon baking soda
Add one drop of an essential oil(s)
Add a few drops of water
❤️ 2. Toothpaste with baking soda, salt and water
Take one tablespoon baking soda
Add a tablespoon of natural salt
Add three drops of an essential oil
Add a few drops of water
❤️ 3. Toothpaste with baking soda and coconut oil
Add two tablespoon baking soda
Add two tablespoon of coconut oil
Add ten drops of essential oil
Mix all the ingredients well to get a smooth texture.
This preparation forms basic toothpaste; however, to prepare whitening toothpaste, whitening ingredients (e.g. turmeric) must be added in minute proportions. Also, the proportion of abrasive agents (e.g. baking soda or diatomaceous earth) must be kept low to prevent tooth enamel damage.

As the economy and businesses flourish, and our lives become more convenient, the nature and the environment suffers.
‘BASURA SA TIYAN NG ISDA 🤮’
A fish vendor in Palawan was shocked to see garbage when he sliced open a fish for a customer on Saturday.
Mary Vanessa Guzman-Tan shared to Daily Guardian her father’s experience as he was buying fish on Saturday morning at a wet market in Barangay Bancao Bancao in Jacana, Puerto Princesa City.
“My father's routine almost every morning is to buy fresh fish in Jacana. He went straight to his suki this morning to look for what is available from his fresh catch. He decided to buy a kilo or two of Dorado,” Mary told Daily Guardian.
Upon slicing the freshly caught Dorado – or mahi-mahi, as it’s also known – the fish vendor and the customer was appalled for what they discovered.
“Since the fish was huge, the vendor sliced it open and as they revealed the insides of the fish, they were surprised to see trash, aside from some squid that the fish had eaten… Basura sa tiyan ng isda. The fish was caught in the waters of Palawan. Even the fisherman was shocked of what he saw,” Mary narrated.
The fish vendor removed the foreign objects one by one from the intestines of the fish. They found several pieces of plastic and other discarded materials, including candy wrappers, bottle caps, a plastic spoon, and a pain relief patch.
“Dahil sa kadamangan ng tao, pati lamang dagat nadadamay. This only means that our ocean is being flooded with trash. Sabi nga ng tatay ko, iba pala kapag napapanood mo lang sa TV, at iba kapag nakita mo mismo sa personal na pag bukas ng tiyan ng isda, puro basura,” Mary said.
Last December, researchers from Western Philippines University revealed their findings on marine plastic pollution in Puerto Princesa City, describing its beaches as “heavily contaminated” by plastic trash, and ranked their classification based on accepted international standards as “dirty to extremely dirty.” | Sean Rafio
