A visionary mentor and a hands-on leader truly empowers. This is how we knew Sir Ed.

AKELCO, which he calls home, was once the recipient of an exceptional service carried on by NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong, ERM or Sir Ed as we fondly call him. He was part of the Change Management Team who took over AKELCO’s management directed by then NEA Administrator Fr. Francisco G. Silva in 2002. In his dialogue with AKELCO employees and at some gatherings of colleagues in the electrification sector, he always reminisced his time spent with AKELCO during those ailing times, offering their lives for Aklanon and appreciating those days gone by.

At home where everything begins, he said, “I learned a lot from AKELCO. Kaya ang sabi niyo na I am part of what is AKELCO today, I would reciprocate that statement by saying without AKELCO I could not have been the NEA Administrator now. My first exposure as far as rural electrification and electric cooperative is concerned is with AKELCO.”

As you celebrate your birthday Sir Ed, may our Creator keep you and strengthen you. AKELCO vouches for the sincerity of your commitment and love for the rural electrification sector that soon shall reap sustainability development.
