Various stakeholders in the local community continue to collaborate and participate in the preparations for the upcoming Brigada Eskwela 2024 program. Brigada Eskwela is an annual nationwide initiative where volunteers from different sectors come together to help clean, repair, and prepare public school facilities before the start of the new academic year.

For the 2024 edition, representatives from the local government, school administrators, teachers, parents, students, and civic organizations have been meeting regularly to coordinate the logistics and activities for Brigada Eskwela in their area. They are working to identify the specific needs and priorities for each participating school, mobilize volunteer resources, and ensure everything is ready for the influx of students when classes resume.

The collaborative efforts aim to create a welcoming and conducive learning environment in public schools through collective community involvement and support. By pooling their time, skills and resources, the various stakeholders are demonstrating their commitment to promote quality education for the children in the locality.

The Davao del Sur School of Fisheries will be hosting a Parents' Orientation event on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 8:30 AM in the DSSF Gym. The orientation will cover relevant information and discussions, particularly regarding the start of classes for the 2024-2025 school year on July 29, 2024. All parents and guardians are highly encouraged to attend this event.

The Davao del Sur School of Fisheries (DSSF) successfully launched its Brigada Eskwela 2024 kickoff today, marked by the theme "Bayanihan para sa MATATAG na Paaralan" (Community Cooperation for a Resilient School). The event marked the start of the annual school maintenance week, with faculty, staff, community stakeholders, and students all gathered with a shared purpose of preparing the school for the upcoming academic year.

The kickoff activities began with a motorcade, followed by a program held at the DSSF Gymnasium. The program was graced by esteemed guests, including School Principal Dr. Rayki Buat, SHS Coordinator Dr. Joy Cabaobao, SPTA President Mr. Arnel Telacas, SPTA Treasurer Mrs. Lovella Ayop, Municipal Councilor Hon. Gillen Montejo, and Alumni President Mr. Edzel Libre.

The Brigada Eskwela was captained by the JHS and SHS Coordinators, Mrs. Romelyn Pongaron and Mrs. Cheryl Rebuyon, along with the Brigada Eskwela Core Group and the unwavering support of all in attendance. During the program, various issues were discussed, including improvements, repairs, painting, and construction projects needed at the school. Donations and sponsorships from stakeholders were also presented, along with the implementation plans for the Brigada Eskwela.

A pledge of commitment wall was also set up, where attendees signed their names to show their dedication to the success of the Brigada Eskwela. The pledge of commitment highlighted the community's resolve to work together for the betterment of the school and its students.

"This Brigada Eskwela is para sa bata, para sa bayan," said JHS BE Coordinator, Romelyn Pongaron , emphasizing the community-driven nature of the initiative. The Brigada Eskwela will run from July 22 to 26, 2024, as the school community comes together to prepare the campus for the upcoming academic year, guided by the theme of "Bayanihan para sa MATATAG na Paaralan."

Attention all Incoming Grade 7 Students:

For those interested in enrolling in the Special Program in Foreign Language, focusing on either Chinese Mandarin or Korean, please note that the proficiency test and interview will be held on July 29, 2024, immediately following the flag ceremony. The venue for this assessment will be announced shortly.

We encourage all prospective students to attend this important event, as successful completion of the proficiency test and interview is a prerequisite for enrollment in the Special Program in Foreign Language. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your language skills and secure a spot in this specialized academic track.

Further details, including the specific time and location of the assessment, will be provided in the near future. We look forward to welcoming our incoming Grade 7 students and helping them embark on their journey of language proficiency and cultural exploration.

Davao del Sur School of Fisheries Gears Up for Brigada Eskwela 2024

In preparation for the upcoming Brigada Eskwela program, the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries has launched a community outreach campaign to the different barangays within the municipality. Leading the initiative are School Principal Mr. Rayki Buat and the newly appointed Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Mrs. Romelyn Pongaron, along with the school's Brigada Eskwela Core Group members.

The Brigada Eskwela (or "School Brigade") is an annual nationwide program in the Philippines where schools, parents, and community members come together before the start of the school year to clean, repair, and prepare school facilities and resources. By reaching out to the local barangays, the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries aims to strengthen partnerships and secure support from various community stakeholders as they gear up for the incoming classes.

"Our Brigada Eskwela campaigns are crucial in mobilizing the community to support our schools," explained Principal Buat. "We want to identify any specific needs or projects our campus may have so we can address them together with the help of our barangay leaders and residents."

Mrs. Pongaron, the newly appointed BE Coordinator, is leading the coordination efforts with the different barangays. "It's important that we engage the community early on, so everyone can contribute what they can - whether it's time, resources, or expertise - to ensure our school is ready for the new academic year," she said.

The Davao del Sur School of Fisheries is part of the national Brigada Eskwela initiative, which has been running successfully for over a decade. This year's campaign is expected to culminate in the main Brigada Eskwela event scheduled on July 22-27, 2024, just before classes commence.

On July 11th, a special ceremony will be held to mark the official turn-over of new musical instruments for the learners of DSSF (District School System Facility).

Congressman Hon. John Tracy F. Cagas is scheduled to attend the event and lend his presence to the occasion. The new musical instruments are set to be presented to the school, providing valuable resources for the students to continue their musical education and training.

This donation of instruments comes as an important boost for the DSSF program, which aims to foster musical talent and appreciation among local youth. With these new tools at their disposal, the young learners will have enhanced opportunities to develop their skills and passion for the performing arts.

Tomorrow is the day that the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries hosts a special event called "TIDES OF FRIENDSHIP: Davao del Sur School of Fisheries Welcomes Korean Visitors". The event aims to explore international opportunities and collaboration between the local community and the visiting Korean delegation. This special gathering provides a platform to strengthen ties and explore potential partnerships in the field of education and cultural exchange.

Honourable guests, including distinguished officials and Korean dignitaries, are expected to grace the occasion. The event will serve as a celebration of friendship, fostering deeper understanding and mutual appreciation between the Philippines and Korea.
