If you were measuring ROI by revenue, for example, a simple formula to do that looks like this: Revenue / investment (people hours, ad budget, etc.) X 100 = social media ROI (as a percentage) So, if you made $1,000 in revenue from social media on a $500 investment, your profit is $500 (remember: profit = revenue – investment). And then your calculation would be: $500 profit / $500 investment X 100 = 100% return on your investment.

A social media manager like me can be an invaluable addition to your small business’s marketing team. Having a social media marketer on staff can help your business’s operations improve in a variety of different ways, and it’s more than worth the recruiting and onboarding expenses.

According to a study conducted by Vouchercloud, a full-time employee is only productive for 2.5–3 hours a day. This is a perk for employers but a disadvantage for freelancers, who lose money whenever they take a vacation or get sick.

There’s nothing worse than searching for a company on social media, only to find that their page hasn’t been updated in ages. If you hire me I will post consistently on each platform. I’ll also know what type of content will be best received on each platform – instead of just posting the same message on each profile your business has.

One of the best reasons to hire freelancers is that you don’t have to provide them with a 401(k), dental benefits, life insurance or paid leave. Even if your business can afford it, there is probably a better use for that $11.55/hour elsewhere.

You don’t have to pay them when they’re off sick, you don’t have to give them holidays and you only pay them for what they do.
