The most common reason for starting out as a freelancer or entrepreneur is the ability to be your own boss. No more working with control-freak management, no more being clocked in and out of the office, no more getting told off for being late—you are the master of your own ship, and that’s a great way to feel.

If you were measuring ROI by revenue, for example, a simple formula to do that looks like this: Revenue / investment (people hours, ad budget, etc.) X 100 = social media ROI (as a percentage) So, if you made $1,000 in revenue from social media on a $500 investment, your profit is $500 (remember: profit = revenue – investment). And then your calculation would be: $500 profit / $500 investment X 100 = 100% return on your investment.

If you or your employees have social media on your to-do list, it’ll be a huge relief to give up this role to someone else. Maybe you’ve been trying to build your social presence, and due to this, other aspects of your business have been put on the backburner. By hiring a social media manager, you’ll have time to focus on new projects and leave the social media work to your new hire.

ROI stands for “return on investment.” What that means for your social media strategy depends on your organization’s objectives (brand awareness, revenue, customer satisfaction, etc.). But generally speaking, social media ROI is the sum of all social media actions that create value. After all the time, money, and resources put in—what’s the return?

A freelancer is someone who performs tasks, usually for multiple employers over the course of a year. A freelancer is somewhat like a free agent in professional sports - he or she essentially sell their services to the highest bidder - except that they usually work for more than one employer. Freelancers may work part-time or full-time. Because they are not considered employers, freelancers are allowed to work for others.

Have your social media manager collaborate with human resources, and start posting open positions on social media. Of course, LinkedIn is the primary place to do this, but you can also share links to job postings on your other platforms. Share links to open positions on Twitter, with accompanying hashtags that will target job seekers. Of course, don’t forget about the social network with the most active users: Facebook. Your social media manager can navigate this platform and find groups that candidates frequent.

Freelance marketers help companies and businesses promote their brands. Your job is to help:
1. Grab attention
2. Drive potential clients to a website/business
3. Convince them to buy a product
And almost EVERY business needs marketing help in one shape or another — especially new ones. Think about it: The busy founder of a new tech start-up isn’t going to want to focus on writing great sales letters or coming up with tweets.

Social Media Managers continue to be a hot commodity in the job market. I started my own career as a social media manager for a recording artist management company in 2009. Since then I’ve worked as a social media manager for 3 different agencies in Toronto. I’m now Director of Internet Marketing at TechWyse where I manage a growing social media team. I also wrote about how to land your inbound marketing dream job on Moz. In this post, I’m going to focus on social media.

A social media manager like me can be an invaluable addition to your small business’s marketing team. Having a social media marketer on staff can help your business’s operations improve in a variety of different ways, and it’s more than worth the recruiting and onboarding expenses.
According to a study conducted by Vouchercloud, a full-time employee is only productive for 2.5–3 hours a day. Employees check social media, take lunch breaks, read news websites, visit the kitchen for a snack/coffee break, text/email friends and family, search online, call out for doctors' appointments and take paid vacations. With a freelancer, you only pay for the actual time they spend working. Let’s assume employees waste 15 hours a week on the miscellaneous activities outlined above. That means you could have a freelancer complete the same amount of work in 25 hours instead of 40. At an hourly rate of $28.85, that equates to $37,505 per year or nearly half of what you were paying an in-house employee
If you only use freelancers occasionally, you could prepare a bespoke contract each time you need it. For very simple jobs, a handshake may be sufficient, but there are risks with this.
One of the unforeseen benefits of hiring remote workers is that you’re not tempted to micromanage them as much. You won’t ask a million questions when you can’t walk by his/her desk every 10 minutes.
In order to facilitate community engagement, a social media manager must be able to address a wide range of people armed with information and sometimes, empathy. The people who follow your brand’s social media must feel that the one publishing posts are human.
Social Media Marketing strategist like me are free agents, not part of any company's permanent staff, so my employer does not need to provide freelance workers with any benefits. This is a perk for employers but a disadvantage for freelancers, who lose money whenever they take a vacation or get sick.
There’s nothing worse than searching for a company on social media, only to find that their page hasn’t been updated in ages. If you hire me I will post consistently on each platform. I’ll also know what type of content will be best received on each platform – instead of just posting the same message on each profile your business has.
One of the best reasons to hire freelancers is that you don’t have to provide them with a 401(k), dental benefits, life insurance or paid leave. Even if your business can afford it, there is probably a better use for that $11.55/hour elsewhere.
You don’t have to pay them when they’re off sick, you don’t have to give them holidays and you only pay them for what they do.
Freelancers have a lot more at stake than regular employees. A freelance career is nothing without client success stories, great reviews, and word of mouth referrals. Plus, freelancers do not want to jeopardize losing a potential source of income. Given this basic fact, freelancers want to excel in every way possible and that usually leads to better client relations.
Did you know that behind any successful social media account is a person (or sometimes, a group of people) who manages the accounts on behalf of the company?
You never have to worry about taking on a permanent employment responsibility with me or even pay for government-mandated benefits and office overhead.
I love what I do, so I am ready to help take your online business to the next level.

Our Story
It all started in browsing the net. My attention caught the website of a freelancer who became very famous for his creative work. I was so inspired by that story. Then an opportunity came. The Department of Information Communication and Technology (DICT) was looking for scholars for their program Digital Jobs.ph (then the Rural Impact Sourcing or RIS) and thought if I join the said program will it change my life? My journey begins when I sign the contract to be one of their scholars and the rest is history

My Journey….
How I became very passionate about computers. Nine (9) years ago, I owned and manage a computer shop in Laoac, Pangasinan. My shop was one of the favorite “tambays” of students, barkadas’ and even OFWs. Because we cater to various computer services such as internet surfing, online and offline gaming, chats, invitation designing, mp3 recording, and even computer repairs. People said that our shop has it all. So, from 8:00 am to Midnight, our shop is loaded with customers. Because of the fast internet development and as a shop owner, I need also to upgrade my knowledge and skills in computer, particularly in online software, video and image editing. The more knowledge I gained the more services we can offer and it is a big advantage for us to be on top with our computer shop competitors, as well
