August 26 is a celebration of National Heroes Day. It is a time to remember the courage and selfless sacrifices of those who fought for our nation's freedom, justice, and unity.
Both known and unknown heroes remind us of the power of resilience and the importance of fighting for what is right and for what is ours. Their bravery paved the way for future generations to build a better tomorrow.
As we honor their legacy, let us not only commemorate the past but also reflect on how we can contribute to the future. Every small act of kindness, every step toward justice, and every effort to uplift others continues the work of our heroes.
Today, we remember that being a hero is not just about grand gestures, but also about the everyday actions that make our country a better place for all.
Mabuhay ang ating mga bayani!

According to the United Nations, over 476 million Indigenous people live across 90 countries, representing 5,000 different cultures. They make up 6.2% of the global population and inhabit all geographic regions. Among them, around 200 groups live in voluntary isolation or initial contact, residing in remote, resource-rich forests in countries like Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, and Venezuela.
Today, August 9, 2024, we celebrate the worldโs Indigenous peoples with the theme, "Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact." This highlights the importance of safeguarding their collective rights to lands and territories. The survival of these Indigenous people is not just about protecting their way of life; it is crucial for the preservation of our planet and the cultural and linguistic diversity that enriches humanity.
In a world that is increasingly interconnected, the choice of these Indigenous communities to remain isolated serves as a powerful reminder of the diversity that exists within humanity. It is our collective responsibility to protect their rights and territories, ensuring that their invaluable knowledge continues to contribute to the world's heritage.

Socialmente Unidos, along with other actively involved organizations, participated in the Brigada Eskwela Clean Up Drive 2024 on August 3, 2024, under the theme "Bright Minds, Green Spaces for Resilient School Places." The event was spearheaded by the Students for Community Extension Services (SCES).
This event aimed to promote cleanliness and a healthy environment around the campus before the start of classes. It wasnโt just about tidying up our campus; it was a celebration of teamwork, unity, and friendships.
Together, weโre creating a clean and dynamic environment that supports both our learning and our shared values. From bright minds to green spaces, we're making a difference one sweep at a time. Letโs continue working together to create a vibrant, resilient school environment.

The Socialmente Unidos participated in the Leadership Training Seminar and Strategic Planning with the theme โCreative Leadership Spark: Igniting Change and Innovation,โ held at Eloisa Royal Suites on July 16, 2024.
The seminar, led by Dr. Anna Liza Apos-Ocaya, Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) Coordinator, aimed to equip participants with the skills and mindset necessary for effective leadership and innovation. Furthermore, selected leaders from various academic and non-academic organizations participated in a series of activities, including banner-making, yell competitions, and team-building exercises. These activities fostered collaboration, camaraderie, and enhanced communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
The seminar culminated in a strategic planning session where organization presidents presented their upcoming year's activities. Guided by Dr. Apos-Ocaya, leaders engaged in constructive feedback, sharing insights and suggestions for improvement. The seminar concluded with a sharing session presided over by Mrs. Portia B. Neri, where participants reflected on their experiences and insights gained during the two days. Mrs. Portia shared a powerful parable about a pencil, leaving attendees with the memorable quote: "You were made to do great things." This message encouraged participants to embrace their leadership roles and strive for greatness in their endeavors.
The seminar served as a powerful catalyst for positive change, inspiring student leaders to embrace their roles and drive the college towards a brighter future. The event provided valuable training and guidance, equipping participants with the tools and motivation to lead effectively and contribute to the college's success.
