More on Cagsawa - After the enactment of the ordinance decreeing cagsawa festival, I sponsored a resolution naming a particular road in Busay going to Cagsawa Ruins as Melody Gersbach Street. Rationale: Melody was a beauty queen who died in a road accident. Just as mayon is an epitome of beauty and a root to the legendary daragang magayon, melody resembles exactly same attributes. She hails from Cullat in Daraga, a nearby place of Busay and having historical attachment with Cagsawa.

The demise of Melody was untimely, so tragic... ruinous just as what happened in 1814 that only the Ruins could attest to the unimaginable tragic deaths.

Her sudden death will forever be etched in the minds of those who would see and visit Cagsawa Ruins as they traverse the Street. And as tourists glance at the most beautiful landscape in Albay, tears will roll not only for those who died and lost during the 1814 eruption but also for Melody who could have been the astonishing figure to typify Daragang Magayon as Daraga commemorates Cagsawa Dos Siglo.

Sadly, what could have been the modern Daragang Magayon is just now a writing on the wall. In the hindsight, her tragic death might have been designed as part of a colorful storyline ripe for editing, or a history in the making. As what history teaches us, only history knows.

They are really entitled to be compensated because the services they have rendered to the public as part of the working force of any government office are as much important as those rendered by plantilla personnel.

In fact, these personnel under JO status and those under COS are equally qualified, if not over-qualified, to hold plantilla positions or be appointed in regular status.
