The De La Salle Brothers - Lipa

Today, we remember Brothers Solomon, Roger, Uldaric and Leon, Brothers who remained true to their commitment to the Lasallian mission in the light of the religious persecution during the French Revolution. They represent the hundreds of Brothers during that time who faced adversity head on and continued the work of teaching minds and touching hearts. It is through their faith, courage and perseverance that Lasallian schools can be found all over the world today.

Today, we ask for the grace to be inspired by the Blessed Brothers so that we may face our own difficulties and challenges with faith and zeal and that we may bring light and joy to those whom we encounter.

Today, 15 August 2024, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a day that honors the moment when Mary, body and soul, was taken into heavenly glory.

The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Assumption reflects the culmination of a life lived in complete union with God's will, a life characterized by her purity, humility, and unwavering devotion. St. John Baptist De La Salle reflects on this event, emphasizing Mary's detachment from earthly things and her readiness to be with God, noting, "The Most Blessed Virgin, filled with the love of God throughout her life, remained on earth only with reluctance and solely through submission to God's will" (MTR 156.1). As we reflect on the Blessed Virgin Mary's Assumption, let us strive to follow her example of perfect submission to God and to seek her intercession in our journey toward holiness.

Today, 13 August 2024, the Lasallian Family together with the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of St. Bénilde Romançon, a dedicated Brother whose life was marked by humility, simplicity, and unwavering commitment to education.

St. Bénilde embodied the Lasallian mission through his quiet dedication, transforming lives by performing ordinary tasks with extraordinary love. St. John Baptist De La Salle often emphasized that the true value of our work lies not in its grandeur but in the love and faithfulness with which it is carried out. As we honor St. Bénilde today, let us be inspired to live with the same spirit of humility and service, making a meaningful impact through our small, everyday actions.

Today, 10 August 2024, the Catholic Church celebrates the Memorial of St. Lawrence, deacon and martyr.

St. Lawrence is remembered for his unwavering faith and profound love for those in the peripheries. In his Meditations, St. John Baptist De La Salle wrote of St. Lawrence, "Let us admire how great the faith of this saint was, for it led him to look upon the poor as the treasure of the Church" (MTR 154.1). As we commemorate this holy man today, let us be inspired by his example to serve others with the same love and dedication, recognizing the divine value in every individual.

De La Salle Brothers of the Philippines Providing human and Christian education to the young in the footsteps of St. John Baptist de La Salle

Today, 6 August 2024, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

This feast commemorates the moment when Jesus revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John (Matthew 17:1–8, Mark 9:2–8, Luke 9:28–36). St. John Baptist De La Salle reflects on this event, emphasizing that while Jesus' transfiguration was a brief external display, our transformation must be an inner one, achieved through the fullness of grace and the possession of the Spirit of God (MTR 152.2). The Founder reminds us that such transformation can only be attained through interiority and prayer, as Jesus demonstrated during His transfiguration (MTR 152.3). In our remembrance of this significant feast, let us seek to transform our lives interiorly, drawing closer to God through prayer and reflection, and allowing His grace to enlighten our souls.
