Sometime February (2020) when we started looking into which business to put up.🤔 Sleepless nights, bantering, endless discussions and debate. We had a long list of concepts, that was later narrowed down onto 'beverages'.🥤 The last question was if it were better to acquire a franchise, or to start up our own brand.✍️

💗With very brave hearts and minds, the small capital we'd been saving,💵 and obviously our name in it, we started Rolusta Café and opened our first store on March 6, 2020.🥳🎉 It was inside Healthserv LB's new Food Hall.🏥 It was both fun and exciting because we received such warm welcome. Who would have thought that just 20 days later, we had to close our store😢 because it was the beginning of this seemingly endless pandemic.😷😩 Our first customers were nurses, doctors, hospital staff.👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️👩‍🔬

Much like everybody else, we struggled but have really been working hard to survive and stumble over this obstacle.🚧 We drew strength from the support of our family and friends.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👫 We decided on how to safely operate our small business during ECQ-days while staying at home,🏡 and so we braved the tide and launched our Contactless Delivery🛵 and 'Honesty Cup' payment system.✅

Today, we thank all of those who continue inspiring and supporting us.🥰 We thank God for guiding us into making each decision.☝️ Seeing many established, big and small businesses that need to rest their banners🏳️ because of our difficult situation at present, we feel for them,💔 because it really is hard. Inspiring Filipino resilience, families, young and old are getting together creatively, to sell just about anything.👩‍💻📲 Like them we are also just hoping to survive each day, despite being scared of the hazards of COVID-19.🤢

So yes, today, we simply want to thank all of our family, friends, new found friends, our loyal Cafénistas, other small and local business that have been continuously supporting Rolusta Café.☕️😍

To anyone who may have lost a job, a career, a business, a property or most unfortunately, a loved one... May we all find strength💪 from the Lord☝️ and be thankful for even the simplest blessing of being able to breathe and read this post. May we all stay healthy and safe.✨
