"El Viaje del Sr. Juan Suarez"
(History of Kiping)

Records show that although the practice of making kiping started in Lucban in the 16th century, it was only in the early 18th century that a native in Lucban, Juan Suarez, learned the basics of making the Mexican tacos or taquitos and started preparing tacos by using rice dough in banana leaves.

Old house of Don Ariston Maderal a former Mayor of Lucban during the American period. Most of the best films like "Misteryo sa Tuwa" by Abbo de la Cruz and Virgin Forest of Peque Gallaga was filmed there.

In lined with our celebration of NCCA National Arts Month 2023 the Office of Student Affairs and Services, Cultural and Arts Program collaboration with different cultural organization will conduct an Exhibit entitled "THE ARTS ITSELF: A SELF EXPRESSIVE ART EXHIBIT" on February 20-23 2023 at Southern Luzon State University CABHA Lobby.

Mechanics:
1 ARTS MONTH 2023 EXHIBIT: “THE ART ITSELF: A SELF EXPRESSIVE ART EXHIBIT is open to all inspiring artists student of Southern Luzon State University in the Academic Year 2022-2023.
2. Participants must submit a clear copy of their artwork in jpeg format. via Google form until Feb 10 2023. Format (Last Name_Organization) (Ex. Dela Cruz_Sikatura)
3.Participants must also submit the description of their artwork which consist of 3-5 sentences, with their complete name, course/year and organization.
4. The views and opinions expressed by the artist do not necessarily reflect to organizations.
5. The artist must include their contact number, email account, and facebook account to contact them if someone is interested in their artworks.
6. You may only submit your own artwork that you, personally created.
7. The artworks will be posted on the page of OSAs, Culture and Arts.
