Way back in 2021, I had these little tubes of paint. I remember buying the small and cheap ones because I didn't want to waste much money on something that I was not sure would succeed. I remember starting to paint on a sketchbook then tried painting on a tote bag given by a friend. I remember starting with only 5 tote bags bought from a supplier who was (very) kind enough to understand that I did not know much about online payment that time 🥹💗 I remember having only a few colors of paint and having to sit for HOURS 🤣, only to get the exact mixtures of the shades I need. I remember making lots of mistakes and having accidental smudges of paint on items that I was supposed to sell (thankfully, most were still sold 🥲)

Today, it's too early to say that something succeeded, I still have lots to learn and improve. But I can say that I now take braver risks to buy larger paint tubes, the accidental smudges of paint now rarely happen (also discovered a way to erase them 🙃 haha), I know now how to pay for things online (yay 😆) and have discovered different suppliers for different needs, the hours I sat mixing paint were now shortened to minutes (😆), and I now paint on pouches too 🥰

So in this IG reel, I'm sharing snippets of making the products, hoping that it would somehow inspire people.

You know how sometimes you see an old place after a long time. Like the playground at your old school. With the same slides and swings standing at their usual place. With the same ice cream vendor standing on his usual spot nearby. But it all somehow looked different. Probably a bit smaller because we grew taller, but we know it's more than that.

We'll admire the place, for its used-to-be-rusty bars are now painted with vibrant colors. We'll be happy to see that the old ice cream cart now carried new flavors. And that the old simple handwritten ice cream sign, is now colorful and digitally designed. We'll sigh and smile as we say, "It changed."

And you'll remember all the days you spent there.
Back when you can find friendship by simply sharing a seesaw with someone,
back when love was as simple as hugging your parents before going to school,
back when we used to take turns on the swing and people still knew how to share,
back when the only downs in life were going down the slide,
back when people helped you get up when you fall,
back when the only pain we felt were bruises on our knees when we tripped,
back when the word "sorry" still fixed arguments,
back when the only "goodbyes" were going home and seeing each other again the next morning.

When we come back to these old places, we start to remember how life was like when we didn't know much. When grownups used to laugh a bit, and pat our heads and say, "You still have lots to learn out there."

And somehow we wish we didn't go out.
For the world out there taught us a lot,
enough to make us realize that the old places didn't change.
