On August 20, 2024, personnel of Quezon MARPSTA led by PCPT ARNEL J ABRIGO, MLET Calauag Commander, together with Bantay Dagat, Brgy. Officials and residents of Brgy. Pansol, Lopez, Quezon, conducted mangrove/tree planting activity in relation to monthly simultaneous one-time big-time PCR activities headed by Mr. John Ver V Nullan, SB Member held at Brgy. Pansol, Lopez, Quezon.
A total of fifty (50) narra seedlings were successfully planted during the said activity.
This activity helps us to provide protection to our environment because it decreases the risk of flooding, erosion of the sand, acts as the coastal defenders during storms and high tides, acts as filtration systems and mitigate the effects of climate change.
The PNP MG is dedicated to upholding its mission to ensure the ongoing protection of the maritime environment, guided by the PNP's core value of "Makakalikasan". The Group consistently participates in environmental initiatives aimed at rehabilitating, restoring, and preserving the maritime ecosystem.

PNP Maritime Group Attends Bayaning Pulis Foundation Educational Assistance Awarding
PBGEN JONATHAN A CABAL, Director of the PNP Maritime Group, and PMAJ Jessica G. Licay C, Personnel Records Section, attended the awarding ceremony for Educational Assistance from the Bayaning Pulis Foundation, Inc. (BPFI) at the Meridian Innovation Center, 11th Floor, Center West Tower, Double Dragon, Pasay City. This event, presided over by PLTGEN Jon A. Arnaldo, The Chief of Directorial Staff, and Ambassador Benedicto V. Yujuico, Chairman of BPFI, recognized the educational needs of the children of fallen police officers on August 16, 2024.
Omisha Y. Tahil, a Grade 2 student from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, was the recipient of the educational assistance. She attended the ceremony virtually from the Headquarters of the 1st Special Operations Unit (SOU) alongside her guardian and PLTCOL Luke P. Ventura, Commander of the 1st SOU. Omisha is the daughter of PSSg Ar-Deshir Que Tahil, a Maintenance Management PNCO with the Logistic and Watercraft Management Division, who tragically passed away on October 22, 2023, in the line of duty.
The PNP Maritime Group extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Bayaning Pulis Foundation, Inc. for their continued support of the families of fallen heroes. The awarding of this educational assistance ensures that Omisha receives the support she needs to continue her education, honoring her father's legacy of service. The Maritime Group remains steadfast in its commitment to providing support and assistance to the families of its personnel, especially during times of need.
PNP Maritime Group Makes Waves with SALBABIDA Project Launch in Malabon City
Malabon City, August 16, 2024—The PNP Maritime Group, led by PBGEN JONATHAN A CABAL, Director, Maritime Group made a splash today with the launch of the SALBABIDA Project, an initiative aimed at boosting community engagement, environmental protection, and public safety in coastal areas.
The event kicked off with a coastal clean-up that saw local residents, volunteers, and stakeholders rolling up their sleeves to clear debris from the shores—proving that protecting our oceans starts at home.
Education took center stage in the second phase, where 350 participants were equipped with life-saving skills and waste management knowledge, guided by experts from the PNP Maritime Group, PNERU, and MMDA.
The day wrapped up with powerful messages of unity and support during the culminating program. Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, praised the initiative as a vital step toward a safer, cleaner future. The event also drew the support of key partners, including the Northern Police District, BFP, DENR, BFAR, PCG, and MMDA.
With the SALBABIDA Project, the PNP Maritime Group is steering the course toward a more resilient and environmentally-conscious community. The strong turnout and enthusiastic support from partners signal a bright future for this wave of change.
PNP Maritime Group Empowers Leaders with Toastmasters Public Speaking Masterclass
On August 15, 2024, the PNP Maritime Group hosted a Toastmasters Demo Meeting at its headquarters in Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City. The event, led by the Land Bank of the Philippines Toastmasters Club, featured enthusiastic participation from selected personnel of the Maritime Group who are eager to enhance their communication skills, particularly in public speaking. The session focused on developing these skills, in line with the Group's commitment to continuous professional development.
The initiative was spearheaded by PBGEN Jonathan A. Cabal, Director of the Maritime Group, who recognized the crucial role that effective communication plays in law enforcement and community engagement. By enhancing their public speaking abilities, Maritime Group personnel are better equipped to convey important messages, foster stronger community relations, and lead with confidence in various settings.
Given the positive reception, the Maritime Group has announced that this meeting marks the beginning of a series of Toastmasters classes aimed at further honing the communication and leadership skills of its personnel. The success of the initial session highlights the Group's dedication to empowering its members with essential skills that go beyond traditional law enforcement. Moving forward, the Group plans to continue offering such training opportunities, ensuring its personnel are well-prepared to meet the demands of their roles both within the organization and in their interactions with the public.
