Pursuant to Barangay Executive No. 3 declaring the first and last Satrdays of the month as “Kalinisan Day" and synchronized clean-up drive day of Barangay Colon, Maasim, Sarangani Province which promote and aim to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for the people through proper solid waste management and to prevent the spread of diseases, such as dengue.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒!

𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑮𝑰𝑩𝑰𝑳𝑰𝑻𝒀:

1. SPES is open to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth and dependents of displaced or would be displaced workers who are intending to enroll the ensuing school year.

2. The applicant's age must be 18-30 years old at the time of application and placement.

3. Has obtained a passing General Weighted Average during the last school year or term attended or immediately preceding his/her application.

4. Generally, SPES applicants' parent combined net income after tax, including the applicant's own, if any, does not exceed the annual regional poverty threshold for a family of six of more or less P158,658.00 or an average of 13,221.50 per month.

5. The applicant must be a bonafide resident of Barangay Colon.

6. Preferably college student or incoming college student.

7. Has not availed any scholarship from government, academe and other sponsoring agencies.

The qualifying examination is scheduled on April 7, 2024 (1 PM) at Brgy. Colon covered court.

Do you want to publish your poems, essays, and flash fictions but don't know where to start?

The Kasikas: Maasim Writers Society calls for zine entries for the first ever Maasim Zine Festival 2024. Writers who are born in, currently residing for any reason that intends them to keep on residing, or whose either parents is a resident of Maasim, Sarangani Province are qualified to submit their zine entries through the organization's official email address, [email protected].

Don't worry! The Kasikas members are here to help. Just message our official page for assistance. We are also offering free printing for the first 10 copies of all zine entries. These acts of service allow every aspiring Maasimian writer to publish their zine without any financial burden, for the organization recognizes the struggles of our writing community in the municipality.

Here are the guidelines for the submission of zine entries:

1. The zine must contain at least 10 but not exceeding 25 literary pieces varying from poems, essays, and flash fictions.
2. Eacg literary piece must be an original piece from the writer, and not, in any way, AI-generated.
3. Each literary piece must not exceed the maximum word count of 1,000 words.
4. The literary pieces must be segregated depending on the literary genre used (poem, essay, flash fiction).
5. The literary pieces may be written using Filipino, English, or any local language, given that if the pieces are written using a local language, the writer must provide a Filipino or English translation.
6. The zine may explore any theme.
7. The zine may be collaborative or individual, depending on the taste of the writer/s.
8. All literary pieces will undergo multiple AI-detectors to maintain literary ethicality.
9. Submit your entries through the organization's official email address, [email protected].
10. For participants seeking for layout assistance, send your zine entry in a word file following this file name format: Org/Name_Zine-Title_Layout-Assistance. The document must be in A4 size, Arial, font size 12, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.
11. For finalized entries, it must be in PDF format following this file name format: Org/Name_Zine-Title_Finalized-Entry
12. The deadline of submission will be on March 30, 2024.

We, the Kasikas: Maasim Writers Society, encourages everyone, from youth and youth-serving organizations, to educational institutions in Maasim, Sarangani Province, to tell us their stories by submitting their zine entries, because we believe that this Maasimian history book longs to be written by the people. Heads Up, Volleyball Enthusiast.

Prepare the nets, balls, and cheers, as Barangay Colon will be on the hunt for the upcoming volleyball league. This event will not only ensure sportsmanship but also fellowship in the field of spikes and throws.

The event will have only one category i.e. the women category that will be categorized for ages 15 and up. A team shall be composed of 12 players, and must present the players' birth certificate. Each should prepare 500 pesos for the entrance fee.

Application will be acceptable from December 30, 2023 until January 3, 2024 at the SK Office of Barangay Colon!

Be prepared and enticed, shooters, as Barangay Colon will be organizing a basketball league with different variations.

Categories are Junior (18 below), Senior (18 above), and Gay members. This league doesn't stand as being a sporty event but also an inclusive diversity of players.

Your team must be composed of 12 members and a certified Colon resident. Please bring your birth certificate and entrance fee for your corresponding categories. Note that the Gay Members can wear dress or skirt as part of their costume.

Appointments will be acceptable from December 30, 2023 to January 03, 2024 in the SK Office of Barangay Colon.
