May naaamoy ka rin ba bago at tuwing may mga pag-ulan? Ang kakaibang amoy na inuugnay sa maulang panahon ay tinatawag na 'petrichor'.

Ang salitang 'petrichor' ay nanggaling sa mga salitang Griyego na petr(o), nangangahulugang bato, at ichor, na tumutukoy naman sa likido sa ugat ng mga Greek god.

Ayon sa mga pag-aaral, ang pwersa ng pagbagsak ng ulan ang siyang umiistorbo at nagpapakalat sa hangin ng mga kemikal mula sa mga halaman at bacteria na nakakalat sa lupa at mga bato. Ang mga kemikal na nakasaboy sa hangin ang tila amoy ng lupa o petrichor na naaamoy natin kapag maulan ang panahon.

Ang amoy naman bago ang umulan, partikular bago magkaroon ng thunderstorm, ay mauugnay naman sa pagdami ng ozone molecule sa itaas na bahagi ng atmosphere na nadadala pababa ng malakas na hangin. Ang ozone ay kilalang may matapang at tila-chlorine na amoy.

Sinasabing ang pagkahumaling na ito dulot ng ilang henerasyon nang pag-uugnay ng mga tao ng 'amoy ng ulan' sa pagtatapos ng tuyong panahon at muling pagsibol ng suplay ng tubig at mga pananim.

Bukod sa amoy, talagang may dulot na halu-halong mga emosyon para sa marami ang tila music video scene tuwing maulan ang panahon.

A decade after inventing the electric motor, British scientist Michael Faraday (1791-1867) revisited his electrical research and, on 29 August 1831, discovered electromagnetic induction. Shortly afterward, he successfully demonstrated this phenomenon, showing the connection between magnetism and motion.

Faraday connected his device to a galvanometer, an instrument that detects electrical current, and found that moving a magnet back and forth through a stationary coil of wire caused the galvanometer's needle to move, indicating a current was flowing. As the magnet moves, the magnetic lines of force repeatedly intersect with the wire, exciting the electrons and generating electrical current. Today, if you replaced the galvanometer with a light bulb, it would light up.

Almost all electric power is generated using Faraday’s principles, regardless of whether the primary energy source is coal, oil, gas, nuclear, hydro, or wind. These fuels are used to drive a generator or turbine, which produces electrical current.
