As part of a six-member jury, Dr. Jabal had the opportunity to review and evaluate over 100 entries from science communicators and journalists across the Philippines. The panel also contributed to refining the competition's mechanics and rubrics, a process led by the DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute.
The Bantog Awards recognized excellence in in-depth science news reporting, segments, programs, specialized audio packages, and feature stories that sought to promote science literacy in the country.
