Maximize your fitness with this targeted interval workout, the 2 Minutes @ 5K Power.
This workout starts with a 20 minute warm up, followed by six sets of 2 minutes at your 5K power, with 3 minutes of easy recovery in between. The goal is to progress throughout, starting at the lower end of your 5K power range and finishing strong at the higher end by the final rep.
These high-intensity intervals with longer recovery will boost your speed while ensuring each effort is powerful and effective.

As a finalist in the 3000-meter steeplechase at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, Val has demonstrated extraordinary skill on the global stage. With a U.S. Olympic Trials record and a personal best time of 9:03.22, she stands as the third fastest American steeplechaser in history. Now, Val brings her extensive experience and a deep understanding of performance training to Stryd, designing workouts that are tailored to help you excel.

Close the chapter on your summer training with the Sundown Surge workout.
This fartlek will start you off with two sets of 2 minutes at your 10K power, each followed by 90 seconds of easy running. Next, you will run two sets of 90 seconds at your 5K power with 60 seconds easy, followed by two sets of 60 seconds at your 3K power, also with 60 seconds easy. The session ends with four sets of 15 second strides at your mile power.
This workout is designed to facilitate a smooth transition from your summer training to fall racing, enhancing your speed, power, and endurance. Consider adding this workout to your calendar as a replacement for another upcoming speed-building fartlek or a workout with a similar RSS.
