1st case of the yr goes to this 39-year old momma with a large ovarian cyst (approx 20 cm, 2 liters of fluid within) with an open cervix at 15 wks of gestation.

Cervical cerclage AND salpingo-oophorectomy done with the help of colleagues here in the South! Happy New Yr to us, indeed!

Procedure: McDonald cerclage with Right oophorectomy (benign cyst), appendectomy

Well-planned OR. Collaborative care. 4 ObGyns in the OR. Kaming mga OB, nag-uusap usap kami sa management ng mga patients namin, pati sa mga procedures.

Benign o hindi naman cancerous ang cyst niya by ultrasound pero malaki ito na kailangan tanggalin dahil may risk na pumutok o pwedeng magcause ng pressure sa matres with the baby inside. Kaya pag masyadong malaki ang cyst habang buntis, pwedeng tanggalin ito (OOPHOROCYSYECTOMY) o tanggalin ang o***y na may bukol (OOPHORECTOMY) depende sa type ng bukol.

👆Hindi lahat ng bukol sa o***y ay tinatanggal habang buntis. Hindi din lahat hinahayaan lang. Depende ito sa laki at type ng bukol kung benign o may posibilidad na kanser. Pinaplano ang procedure ng maayos dahil may baby na kailangan ding alagaan. At kung pangit man ang bukol, we refer to ObGyn-Gyne Oncologists, o mga OB na expert sa mga kanser sa reproductive system.
👆✅️Kung buntis at may bukol sa o***y, pls. Consult with your ObGyns para matulungan kayo sa pag-manage dito.

Here's to praying Mommy R will reach term, or prolong the pregnancy na kaya na ni baby. 🙏
