The Journey of my Hysterectomy Surgery by Nery Ann Trugillo
Last 2022, I was diagnosed with ADENOMYOSIS and based on my first OBGYN - for observation daw muna then after a year - follow up check up. Niresetahan nya lang ako ng gamot and pain reliever kasi sabi ko sobrang ng sakit ng puson ko as in first and second day of my menstruation puyat ako kasi namimilipit ako sa sobrang sakit. Beside sa puson sumasakit din ung tagiliran at likod ko kasabay pa sikmura. For how many years Advil at Kremil S ang naging kakampi ko every monthly period ko. I remember muntik pa akong matanggal sa work kasi every month akong may absent because of my severe dysmenorrhea. After a year same scenario lang yung sinabi sakin ng doctor ultrasound bigay ng gamot and balik next year unless gusto ko na daw ipatanggal ung matres ko. 2024 month of May nag follow up check up ako kasi sobrang lala na ng sakit. End up same ganun pa din ung sinabi ng doctor so we decided na mag pa second opinion nalang sa ibang doctor.
Habang nag iiscroll ako sa social media sa tiktok tungkol sakit kong adenomyosis dumaan sa news feed ko ung video ni Dra. Aherrera so nag try kami mag inquire at nag paschedule ng appointment para makapag pacheck up agad. Naexplain sakin ni Dra. Aherrera every detail kung ano ang kondisyon ko at dahil doon mas naintindihan ko ang lahat kaya pala grabe ung sakit. Nirecord ko pa nga yung conversation para pag uwi namin mapapakinggan ko ulit ano ung mga sinabi ni doc at para mabalikan po if my hindi ako maintindihan. She give me an option inject para hindi ako mag monthly period o mag undergo ng surgery. Nag ask din kami ng price para incase mapag handaan namin.Sobrang stressful days and sleepless nights thinking saan kukuha ng ganung kalaking halaga para mapabilis ung procedure dahil traumatizing na sakin ung pain na binibigay ng monthly period ko. Thanks to my family, mama, papa, kuya, uncle and auntie in helping by providing my hospital expenses and being my support system in cheering me up that everything will go well. And also, I want to thank my partner for being there for me from the very beginning.
Days past after we decided na mag undergo nalang ng surgery. We informed Dra. Aherrera sa desisyon namin. She gave instructions what we need to prepare before the operation. Since tight ang budget other option ng hospital kami nag paadmit. All things went well, big thanks to Calamba Medical Center to all the hospital personnel, nurses, doctors. Thank you, Dra Annebelle Aherrera for her thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. From the first day of my check , she continues to be considerate and accommodates all my concerns till the day of my successful operation. It has been one month since my operation and I feel good and with no pain. A new life. As I continue to heal, I am filled with gratitude. Grateful for the skilled hands and dedication of my doctor.
To all my fellow women out there - kung meron kayong naeexperience na kakaiba sa menstruation or any related sa reproductive system nyo, don't hesitate to seek a doctor. Prevention is better than cure. 😉 Don't let the days or years pass in suffering of any kind of pain.

This is her story.
Hello, I am Kaycee, I am 9 years old and I'm from Laguna.. I have a Rare condition which is called "Imperforate H***n ( No va**nal opening) "
On December 10, 2023, when I woke up early and went down to p*e, for some reason I was unable to urinate. I was crying from pain and my stomach started to be hard. So my mother brought me to the Emergency Hospital. It took me a few minutes to urinate but couldn't. So we had no choice left but to insert a catheter. The catheter made me urinate and the urine bag was almost one Liter. The doctor checked my urine and the result was normal. The doctor said I need an Ultrasound before removing the catheter.
The next day we went to St. James Hospital for the Ultrasound and the Obygyne said I have a "Urinary Bladder Outlet Obstruction caused by a Large Complex Pelvic Cyst, consider Ovarian new Growth". The Obygyne said I need a second opinion and then removed my catheter. We went to New Sinai Hospital for another Ultrasound and the result was "Hematometra probably secondary to Imperforate H***n". So we went to another Obygyne from Cabuyao Hospital who said I have "Imperforate H***n", and I need to see a Pediatric Gynecologist and she suggested the Philippine Children's Medical Center. So we asked our neighbor Dra. Feliz Magbanua, who is also an Obygyne. She said she knows a Pediatric Gynecologist at the Calamba Medical Center and her name is Dr. Annebelle D. Aherrera. Thank you , Lord, we found a perfect doctor for me.
On December 18, 2023, we went to the CMC Hospital and met Dra. Annebelle, she is a very kind and beautiful doctor. She checked me and Dra. Annebelle said I have "Imperforate H***n". Just like the findings of other doctors, she said that I need surgery. But I needed to get clearance from my pedia to have the procedure to make
an opening. But since I got sick, it was moved in January.
On January 19 ,2024 , Dra Aherrera said procedure is not done yet because I have a "Septum with Hematocolpos". This was confirmed by the OB sonologist Dr Mitos Datu.
I had to wait until I would feel pain again. On March 3, 2024 I felt so much pain in my back and stomach. So my parents said I need a check-up.
So the next day March 4 , we went to the Calamba Medical Center -CMC early in the morning. While we were waiting for Dra , me and my father went down the stairs then up the stairs from ground floor to the 10th floor 3 times so I wont feel the pain. Finally, when Dra. Annebelle checked me, she said this is the time for my Major Operation - H***nectomy.
So we prayed for myself and that the operation will be successful.
I was scheduled at 3pm and I was happy because this will be last
operation.
At 7:43pm, I woke up in the Recovery room and wasn't dizzy at all. I was so hungry because i didn't eat the whole day. I finally got home after.
The next morning, I didn't feel any pain and happy I have a lot of blood, which was my first menstruation. Since then for 5 months now, I have my monthly menstruation. No pain at all.
Thank you , Lord, parents, and all of the nurses and doctors: Dra. Doreen Sales ( anesthesia), Especially to my OB-Sono Dra. Mitos Datu and my favorite and very kind doctor, Dr Annebelle Aherrera.

About 4 or 5 weeks ago, there was a couple who was waiting at my clinic around 7:30am. They had no appointment but I accommodated to see them.
I found out they were from Alaminos, Pangasinan and had travelled 7 hours by motorcycle to come and seek consult.
A friend/relative of hers shared with her my video explaining the causes of abnormal uterine bleeding and adenomyosis.
As the patient shared her story she broke down in tears explaining the pain she experiences every month for
almost 9 years now. In fact, she shared that her mother sold some parcel
of land so she can have the money to seek consult and get treated.
It was a moving story for me.😢
After a pelvic exam supported by a transva**nal ultrasound, her diagnosis is severe pelvic endometriosis.
The need for a removal of her uterus and both ovaries was thoroughly discussed and explained. The couple went back to the province and informed me they will prepare their money for the surgery - thinking it will cost a million pesos to get the operation done at Makatimed.
I told them that it is not true and even offered to help them defray costs, waive professional fees and look for donors.
True enough after two weeks, the patient called and said she was ready to be admitted for the procedure.
She shared that her mother sold another parcel of land to add to the medical expenses.
By God's grace and mercy, the patient's operation and post op recovery were unremarkable. She was discharged after four days.
She has blessed the whole team- residents, nurses, hospital personel and Makati Medical Center with her trust and confidence. 🙏🙏🙏

Isang araw habang ako ay nagce-cellphone Nakita ko ang video na ang topic ay tungkol sa adenomyosis naging interesado akong panoorin. Dahil sa video na yon naisip ko na balang araw makakapunta ako sa manila at makakapagpa check up ako don.9 years din ako nagtiis sa sakit dahil sa hirap Ng buhay namin nagtitiis na lang ako hangng sa magbinta Ng lupa SI mama ko pra lang makapagpagamot ako At dahil sa napanood ko na video ni dra. Aherrera! Nagkaroon ako ng pagasa na mawawala na Ang aking sakit. Dumating na Ang araw na hinihintay ko ang Makita at makilala ang doctor na napanood ko lang. From Pangasinan to Manila nakamotor lang kami Ng Asawa ko pitong Oras kami sa biyahe mahirap Kasi maulan pa nong araw na yon. Hanggang sa nakaharap Kona SI dra. Aherrera pinaliwanag Nia ang sakit ko at ang solution ay ang operahan ako. Ng operahan na ako sobra ang Kaba ko pero Hindi ako natakot dahil kampante ako sa aking doctor na SI dra. Aherrera at kampante ako sa hospital Makati Medical Center -mga nurses, residente, doctors dahil high class na hospital eto thank you Makati Medical Center!
