On August 30, 2024, DTI-NCRO Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Winston T. Singun met with DOST PTRI Director Julius Leaño, Jr. for an exploratory discussion.

In partnership with the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board - National Capital Region, the Department of Trade and Industry - National Capital Regional Office co-facilitated today a one-day training for MSMEs covering the 7s of Good Housekeeping, Productivity-Based Incentive Scheme (PBIS), and Orientation to Wage Order No. NCR-25 and Wage Distortion.

Thirty MSMEs from the NCR participated in this event, which aimed to boost their productivity and update them on the latest wage order developments.

As technology continues to evolve rapidly, competitive strategies in the business world are advancing just as quickly, intensifying the challenges for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including start-up entrepreneurs, to enter and stay relevant in the market. To address this, CITE DTI-NCRO partnered once again with Barangka Credit Cooperative – Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BCC-MPC) to host an online training session titled "𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠" on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒. The session was led by Ms. Florlynn B. Dela Peña, an experienced business consultant, certified PCE-GO Negosyo Mentor, and a frequent resource speaker for the Department of Trade and Industry.

The online training benefitted nearly a hundred participants, including aspiring entrepreneurs and representatives from various Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The session promoted active participation, highlighting the importance of digital marketing in today’s business environment, exploring various strategies, and addressing the potential risks involved. As the discussion progressed, participants became increasingly engaged, asking questions, and sharing suggestions and recommendations with their fellow attendees. This collaborative interaction highlighted the success and purpose of the session.

On August 15-16, the DTI-National Capital Regional Office, through its Area 1 Office, participated by mobilizing its Negosyo Center booth to respond to inquiries and concerns of MSMEs under the paper and printing industries.

The 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 is being presented by the Philippine Printing Technical Foundation, in partnership with DTI-PTTC Global MSME Academy focusing on advancements and innovations in the printing industry. The conference includes a variety of lectures, workshops, and networking opportunities that focus on the most recent trends, technology, and best practices in printing. It serves as a forum for learning, knowledge sharing, and discussion about the printing industry's future orientation.
This is an initiative to gather MSMEs, influencers, stakeholders and players in the printing community.

The Department of Trade and Industry - National Capital Regional Office held its product development program, the 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, from August 13-15, 2024. This session aims to enhance MSME brands by improving product and packaging designs with the help of design consultants.

A total of 50 MSMEs from the food and non-food sectors received assistance. The first two days were dedicated to food MSMEs, while the final day focused on non-food MSMES. During the event, MSMEs attended seminars on Packaging and Labelling Mandatory requirements for Local Market, and Product Development and Updates.

Following the seminars, they also benefited from one-on-one consultations with designers from Trendisenio Product Design & Consultancy Firm namely Mr. Arturo Delgado and Mr. Eduardo Deleña.

After the activity, the MSMEs are expected to execute prototypes of their new and improved product packaging and label designs to be showcased at the special setting of Metro Fiesta, annual regional trade fair of DTI-NCRO.

The Department of Trade and Industry - National Capital Region Office (DTI-NCRO), in collaboration with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) - Valenzuela, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO), and the City Government of Valenzuela, successfully conducted a three-day 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐘𝐄𝐏) 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐝 "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐰𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐬" from August 7 to 9, 2024, at the Valenzuela Academic Center of Excellence (ValAce).

Eighteen aspiring young entrepreneurs participated in the program, honing their business acumen through intensive skill-building sessions. Inspired by seasoned entrepreneurs who served as mentors and speakers, participants developed innovative business concepts. On the final day, nine teams presented their business pitches to a panel of judges. Three outstanding teams were awarded prizes to jumpstart their entrepreneurial ventures.

NC Quezon City supported the launching of the 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 through setting up of a Negosyo Center Desk to facilitate business name registration. Through the Nano Enterprise Registration Program of QC- Government, QC-based nano enterprises whose asset size do not exceed P50,000.00 or whose annual sales do not exceed P250,000.00 shall be exempted from paying local business tax and regulatory fees. They only have to pay P500.00 to cover fire safety inspection fee which is a fee prescribed by a National Agency.
