"You know how as kids, we were all somehow sure of what we want to be when we grow up? I once aspired to be a doctor. Then a policeman. But when I reached high school, I started to discover my talent and love for music. I won various music competitions inside and outside school, and was actually able to give free guitar lessons to kids in our church on weekends. I've already made up my mind that I would take up a Music-related course in college, but my parents were strongly against it. They wanted me to become an accountant. They said I would be more successful and would have a more defined career path with it. It was all a matter of long-term stability. I bargained with them; I pleaded, but to no avail. I ended up following their wishes for me and took up BS Accountancy. I'm now on my 3rd year—more than halfway through—but my heart still wants to be somewhere else. I still want to be someone else.

I have always been in love with teaching, and I'm sure teachers anywhere can attest to the fact that our profession is more than just a job that gets us by. Being second parents to our students entails a lot of hard work and responsibility. Nurturing children and honing their skills isn't an easy task—and these don't even complete the equation yet. From one-on-one sessions with kids and PTA meetings to crafting lesson plans and creating visual aids, it's easy to feel drained and exhausted. Sometimes, the stress just takes its toll on my overall being.

But just because you're an educator and you set classroom rules most of the time, doesn't mean you can't have fun and unwind. One of my co-teachers organized an after-work bonding activity among us faculty members, and we went to The Break Room PH. I swear, I've never felt that much relief in releasing pent-up stress ever since I started teaching! It was thrilling and relaxing at the same time. I'd definitely recommend this to other teachers out there—who knows, we might even have sessions with our students! gets a big check and a perfect score from me!

To say that being a working college student is hard would be an understatement. The struggle began on my first year in university, when my parents were still trying to figure out how we could make ends meet and how they could provide for me and my 4 siblings. Expenses and debts started to pile up, and being the eldest, I decided to step up and help out with the finances. Of course I am willing to do that much for my family. But sometimes, all the stress and burden of being the responsible one get the better of me. More often than not, I find myself angry at our situation, yet I can't blame my parents or any of my siblings for it.

My friends and workmates have become my go-to stress relievers—they never get tired of my rants about life. They do a lot to help me release my pent-up frustrations, so when we heard about , we decided to give it a try. My friends even chipped in money to pay for my session! When it was done, I felt such great relief just releasing my emotions. Time for myself, I must say. It's not everyday that I get to try something like this given my schedule at work and at home, so it's really nice to have found an effective outlet to help me get the negativity out.
