AUGUST 31 | THE FEAST DAY OF ST. JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA

Joseph of Arimathea recovered the body of Jesus after his crucifixion, prepared the remains, and then laid him in a tomb.

According to Matthew (27:58), Joseph “begged the body of Jesus” from Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect of Judaea who presided over the trial of Jesus and ordered his crucifixion.

Pilate then commanded delivery of the body to Joseph, who then — either by himself or with the help of Nicodemus (the latter according to John 19:39) — anointed the body of Jesus with “a mixture of myrrh and aloes” before wrapping it in clean linen cloth.

Finally, according to Matthew 27:60, Joseph laid the body “in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.”

A Palm Sunday without Palms (for some).
But in the absence of palms dont worry. You already have two. Two palms to join together in prayer. Two palms to lift up in surrender and two palms to open in service and charity. Wala mang palaspas mayroon tayong palad upang manalangin at tumulong sa kapwa.

Pray, Pray for the country, Pray for the government, the local Church. Let us ask the Immaculate Virgin to keep us all under the mantle of her protection.

Please be informed that FUNERARIA FLORESCO will be following the directive being inplemented by the Metro Manila Council and MMDA with regards to social distancing and curfew hours.

As a precautionary measure, we would like to request the family to inform their relatives and guests to limit the time of their stay at our chapels. Likewise, we are also informed by our partner crematoriums that their waiting areas/facilities will be limited to immediate family only.

This takes effect beginning March 14, 2020 until April 12, 2020.
