On August 28, 2024, the second-year Industrial Engineering students of Bulacan State University (BulSU) were welcomed to a new academic journey during the Plant Study Orientation held at the BulSU Hostel. The event, themed "Welcome Aboard: Ascending Skies, FlyIEng to New Heights," set the stage for an inspiring and informative day.
The orientation commenced with a warm welcome from Engr. Jeremy M. Baรฑez, the Program Chair, who addressed the students with words of encouragement and motivation. The event then featured insightful talks from distinguished guest speakers Engr. Jasper Kevin Dionisio and Engr. John Derick Bernales, who shared their valuable experiences and expertise in the field of Industrial Engineering.
Engr. Hazel Caparas, the adviser of ISIE, took over to showcase the successful projects undertaken by previous BulSU Industrial Engineering students and highlighted the University's strong partnerships with leading companies. The students were captivated by the impressive accomplishments and the opportunities that awaited them.
To recognize the efforts and achievements of the students, an awarding ceremony was held to honor those who excelled in their academic pursuits. The event concluded with a memorable photo opportunity and the spirited BulSU march, leaving the students energized and ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of their upcoming plant study experiences.
โI am so delighted and proud na naging successful yung event namin for sophomores kasi to be honest, naging super hectic nung araw na iyon para sa aming EBs dahil nagkasabay yung dalawang events namin which is yung Salubong Booth. Kagaya nung nauna naming event, we also faced some unforeseen circumstances, but we were able to overcome them and push through smoothly. I truly hope that what they learned in the orientation will serve as a good foundation and help them in their studies.โ VP Aira de Silva, the event head, said in the interview.
As the students embark on their plant study journey, the Plant Study Orientation served as a powerful reminder of the exciting opportunities and the invaluable knowledge they will gain.

"I am proud to say na naging successful 'yung event, we were able to check all the objectives na sinet namin for the event and somehow, we are very much happy na we were able to push through the event even though nagkaroon ng problem night before the event. Though hindi man 'yon ang plan namin for the event, I am happy kasi we were able to work under pressure and nakapag set agad kami ng plan B dahil sa biglaang announcement ng eLibrary tungkol sa suspensiyon ng kanilang operasyon. Right now after nung event ang tanging message ko para sa mga FreshIEs natin is to give the program the chance, lalo na't karamihan sa kanila ay hindi first choice ang IE. Maraming misconceptions about sa program natin pero habang tumatagal, doon nila makikita na these misconceptions are actually not true. And more than failures, mas marami pa ring success stories na nabuo dahil sa IE," pahayag ni Pres. Lorenz Nacu.

The FreshIE review session, organized by IEntelligent, introduced incoming first-year students to foundational subjects. It began with a focus on Physics on August 9, followed by Calculus 1 on August 10. These sessions aimed to prepare students for their upcoming coursework and provide essential knowledge.
On Day 1, the focus was on Physics, with Alyssa Roxas and Mairic Pascual leading the session. They provided comprehensive tutorials on a range of essential topics within the subject, helping students build a solid understanding of fundamental Physics concepts.
Day 2 shifted the focus to Calculus 1, with Gelsey Baniquet and Bea Pagtalunan overseeing the review session. They guided the students through various topics they might encounter in their Calculus coursework, offering valuable insights and explanations to help them grasp the core principles of the subject.
"I understand that freshIEs are experiencing mixed feelings as they embark on this new journey and transition to a different environment from what they're accustomed to, but just like I stated in the IE am Ready event, as long as they work hard and persevere, it will all pay off. Of course, with the faith of the Lord, I'm sure that everything will go well. A quote that I can put here to inspire freshIEs is from one of my favorite book series, "Harry Potter," and I believe it is very vital: "Working hard is important, but there's something that matters even more: believing in yourself." Good luck, freshIEs!" Alyssa Roxas stated.
This review session marked a promising start for the incoming students, allowing them to explore key concepts, hear firsthand experiences from current Industrial Engineering students, and take advantage of opportunities to ask questions about their future studies in the field.

In a hard-fought election last May 8, 2024, the Industrial Engineering students chose their new set of leaders for the academic year 2024-2025. From President down to the Information and Communication Officer, every position was passionately contested by candidates willing to serve their fellow students. When the final votes were tallied, a new leadership team emerged victorious, ready to take on the challenges ahead with determination and a vision for ISIE BulSU's future success.
The top leadership position of President was secured by Lorenz G. Nacu after receiving the highest number of votes. Thank you so much."
Handling external affairs as the Vice President will be Olivia P. Paderon's responsibility. The role of Vice President for Internal Operations goes to Aira De Silva. Overseeing finances and resource generation is now Sondy M. Malunao's domain as the Vice President for that area. Meanwhile, Tania Simone R. Magtalas will take charge as the Vice President for Student Development. Other key positions were also filled through this election. Reinon Chris B. Dionisio emerged as the new Secretary, entrusted with maintaining records. Samantha Marie G. Maglaque will serve as the Auditor, ensuring financial accountability. Last but not least, Piolo U. Lumabi secured the Information and Communication Officer position, acting as the voice for the organization.
With this new group of hardworking student leaders will help the ISIE organization achieve greater success. The current leaders have big shoes to fill, but they are determined to leave a powerful mark through their passion and vision for ISIE-BulSU.

Shiena Marie P. Martinez, Engr. Ralph G. Yepes at Engr. Jeric M. Dela Merced mula sa Main Campus.
"Aside from reviewing yung mga naturo for the last 4 years in BulSU, I also enrolled in a Review Center. It was also challenging kasi I started working na. I can only review during weekends so I asked for a 1 week leave to catch up lang talaga with the topics," pahayag ni Engr. Marcelino.
"At first, I thought I failed the exam kasi I didn't see my name sa list of passers, I skipped the list of topnotchers, then nagulat na lang ako na maraming nag-congrats so I checked the list again. That's when I saw my name sa list of topnotchers. It was very unexpected, but it was totally worth it! I just felt super happy kasi after all the hardworks, struggles, and challenges, I passed the CIE Exam with an added bonus na nag-Rank 13 pa," dagdag nito.

The Integrated Students of Industrial Engineering have organized an event entitled "Headstart: Sharpening the Minds and Equipping Oneself with Knowledge and Skills for a Successful Career Internship" in preparation for the upcoming internship of third year students. This workshop, took place at the eLibrary 7th Floor Amphitheater on April 5, 2024.
The event, led by Ms. Princess M. Morales, aims to prepare participants for a successful internship experience. With a focus on practical skills, broadening perspectives, fostering personal and professional growth, and facilitating networking, students gained valuable insights to navigate the field of industrial engineering in their future careers. Ms. Morales also shared how to build a resume, know the different job board platforms, build network, and prepare for the interview. Additionally, students had the opportunity to showcase their knowledge through engaging activities designed to test their skills.
"Pinaka tumatak sa akin is yung format pagsagot sa interview which is yung 'STAR' (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for me mas mapadali yung way ng pag answer kase meron kang guide. Also, effective sya para hindi ka maligaw sa sagot mo like ma-express mo ng maayos. Now that I have an idea on how to answer questions effectively, I can practice and prepare myself more in terms of interview knowing that it would be a big help in incoming internship," Jhen Fajardo, one of the participant of the event shared.
Sa tingin ko ay marami akong maaapply sa mga naturo kanina pag dumating yung time na mago-OJT na ako," a third year student, Alexis Nuรฑez said.
The event ended with insightful information intended to help the students in their future career internships. Every student had the chance to be equipped for success in the field of industrial engineering.

Hazel Caparas, Engr. Marianne Calayag, Engr. Jeremy Baรฑez, Engr. Juan Tecson, IExtension Officers, Project Heads at JIEdoka members.
