Buttonwood occurs as a shrub or small tree in south Florida and the Caribbean islands. While it can reach 60 ft. in height, generally it is about 25–35 ft., with an open crown of about 20–25 ft. The twisted trunk belies the species name, erectus, which implies upright growth. The wood is very hard and is used in carvings.
The silver-leaf form is more popular than green for landscaping.

Silver queen has attractive, silvery-green, lance-shaped leaves. sometimes called painted drop tongue, The marbled darker green color allows this Chinese Evergreen to tolerate some degree of shade. The leaves tend to grow in an upright manner.

Chinese Evergreens are on NASA's list of air-purifying plants.
sometimes called painted drop tongue, is an evergreen perennial with a free-branching habit that typically grows to 24” tall. It is a very popular houseplant that survives well in low light.

Light: Aglaonema will thrive in low to bright light levels. The lighter the leaf colour the higher the required light levels. Plain, dark green varieties will thrive in near shade, whereas the lighter, variegated types need well lit, bright conditions. Avoid direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves.

Water: Keep the soil moist at all times, do not allow it to dry out. Do not overwater as this may encourage root rot. Moderation is the key.

Temperature: Normal room temperature 18-24°C, however avoid cold draughts.

Humidity: Chinese Evergreens can tolerate less humidity than some other plants, yet it will still appreciate your efforts to improve surrounding humidity levels, either via regular misting or using a pebble tray.

Let's welcome EPISCIA. This plant is a genus of flowering plants in the African violet family, Gesneriaceae. The ten species it contains are native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. The species are perennial herbaceous plants characterized by a stoloniferous habit, red (rarely orange, pink, blue or yellow) flowers, and frequently have marked or patterned leaves. Episcias are sometimes called flame violets.

For the best results, grow your Episcia Flame under medium to high humidity levels above 50%. If the air in your home is dry, move your plant to a terrarium, kitchen, or bathroom for some humidity boost. You can also set it up in a pebble tray, but make sure the pot sits on the pebbles and is above the water.

Keep this plant in bright, indirect light for at least 8 hours a day. Avoid direct sunlight. Fluorescent lighting can also be used. When growing this houseplant for blooms under fluorescent lights, increase the time to 12 hours.
