RIMOWA and Apartamento have partnered to create a special set of limited-edition publications. The first in the series of architecture books related to inspirational houses, ‘The Walker House, RM Schindler’ will be released this THURSDAY JUNE 14 on the Apartamento Magazine Online Shop as well as select bookstores around the world. The first book takes us to Los Angeles, the adopted home of Austrian-born American architect, RM Schindler. It tells the story of the Walker House and how came into the possession of its current owner, journalist and modernist architecture and design geek, Andrew Romano. Discover RIMOWA’s new store at luxury department store Le Bon Marché in Paris for a selection of high-end luggage, artist-edition stickers and curated lifestyle products. The first-ever modern department store, Le Bon Marché first opened its doors on 24 rue de Sèvres on Paris’ Left Bank in 1852 and has since combined a sense of tradition with its taste for modernity and culture.

RIMOWA – Utility, elevated.

Where line and form take shape. Inspired by Gaudí and built on the site of an old industrial textile factory, modernist Catalan architect Lluís Muncunill i Parellada’s 1896 Masía Freixa is a masterwork of Art Nouveau architecture. Rounded profiles and parabolic arches combine traditional and modern shapes and materials to create an organic building that seemingly undulates in space.

RIMOWA modernism meets Danish classicism at the Nobis Hotel Copenhagen. Rethought in 2017 by starchitect Gert Wingårdh, the landmark was originally built in 1903 as the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music. Today, the contemporary luxury hotel combines an updated take on Le Corbusier with a classic Danish sensibility that lends it a stripped down sophistication that reads essential.
