The Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch recently conducted its Council Meeting last August 30, 2024 at the Valley Verde Country Club.
As we aim to continuously improve, the meeting was done to evaluate the current status of the branch, identify what needs improvement in terms of carrying out humanitarian services, and our steps moving forward.
The meeting was attended by 8 members of the council under the chairmanship of Dir. Fabio J. Enriquez, Rizal Chapter Administrator Roberto R. Dacles, and staffs from Mandaluyong City Branch under the leadership of Mr. Mark Daryl Taong, Officer in Charge.

LOOK 👀 | PRC Rizal Mandaluyong Augments in Relief Distribution
The Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter continues to provide humanitarian assistance through its relief operations in response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina.
In a coordinated effort to support affected communities, Mandaluyong City Branch augmented the distribution of relief food packages to the residents of Lakas Bisig, West Floodway, Cainta, Rizal yesterday, August 10, 2024.
Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch extends its gratitude to Toyota Shaw Inc. and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Mandaluyong for their generous donation, helping us make a difference in the community.
The Branch office had received cash donations amounting to P20,000 from PCCI Mandaluyong and P10,000 from Toyota Shaw Inc. The donation was received by our staffs, Mr. Mark Daryl Taong, Officer in Charge of Mandaluyong City Branch and Dr. Roberto R. Dacles, Chapter Administrator. Together with them are the Council Members, Dir. Fabio J. Enriquez, Dir. Nikki De Vega, Dir. Gion Fabella and Dir. Raymond Samson.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch, has taken a significant step towards enhancing community health and welfare, disaster and emergency preparedness, youth leadership, and blood programs by initiating discussions with Jose Rizal University (JRU) for a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This MoA aims to strengthen the collaboration and partnership between the humanitarian organization and the esteemed educational institution.
The intial meeting was attended by Dr. Roberto R. Dacles, Chapter Administrator of Rizal Chapter; Mr. Mark Daryl E. Taong, Branch Officer-in-Charge for Mandaluyong City Branch; Dr. Vincent K. Fabella, College President of JRU; and Ms. Hiromi M. Lascano, Director of Student Development Office/ Community Development Office. This was held last July 17, 2024 at Jose Rizal University, Mandaluyong City.
In response to the heavy rainfall due to the southwest moonson and Super Typhoon , the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch has been at the forefront of relief efforts, providing vital support to the community. Their swift and coordinated actions have been crucial in helping those impacted by the adverse weather conditions.
Through the coordination with Mandaluyong CDRRMO and CSWD, we were able to distribute hot meals to a total of 112 families and 472 individuals in the evacuation areas situated at Nueve De Pebrero Elementary School, Blk 12 at Brgy. Addition Hills and Mandaluyong Elementary School, Brgy. Poblacion on July 24.
Aside from providing warm meals to the displaced families, the branch also deployed several Disaster Teams to assess the needs of each evacuation centers, we also conducted Psychological First Aid to several evacuees, and has been roving and monitoring for flooded areas.
Since the onset of the typhoon, PRC Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch prepositioned it’s logistics and manpower for possible support to affected areas. The branch office has also activated and alerted its RC 143 team leaders in all barangays, identifying areas with high risk of flooding, and strong winds.

ICYMI | Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter conducts the 19th Youth Instructors’ Training Course Graduation Ceremony
Nine aspiring Youth Instructors from various branches of the Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter graduated from the 19th Youth Instructors’ Training Course (YITC) held last July 17, 2024, at Doña Basilisa Yangco Elementary School in Namayan, Mandaluyong City.
The YITC is an intensive 15-day program designed to equip RCY Volunteers with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective instructors and peer educators. Graduates will be primarily assigned to conduct Youth Volunteer Formation courses, and HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse Prevention seminars within the different Red Cross Youth Councils of the Rizal Chapter.
During the graduation, Ysabelle Khris Santos, a volunteer from Mandaluyong City Branch Community Red Cross Youth Council was awarded as the Batch Valedictorian, Best in Knowledge (Midterms and Finals), Best in Skills (Midterms and Finals), and lastly recognized as a Certified Trainer.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to all branches and participants of the recently conducted YITC held last July 3 - 17 at the Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter Main Office and Doña Basilisa Yangco Elementary School.

The Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch has been officially recognized as one of the partners of Bonifacio Javier National High School (BJNHS) last May 20, 2024 during the school’s Recognition Ceremony.
The Branch was awarded a Plaque of Appreciation for its invaluable support and service for the Skills Enhancement and Work Immersion Program for the Senior High School Learners. The award was received by Mr. Mark Daryl E. Taong, Branch Officer in Charge, and Ms. Althea Marie A. Espino, CSR for the Safety Service and Disaster Management Service.
Seven students from BJNHS conducted their immersion program at the branch office to which they have learned the PRC’s role in the community and its mission and vision through various activities and office works. The involvement of esteemed organizations like the PRC is pivotal in enriching the students' learning journey, offering them a glimpse into the critical services and operations that aid the community.
IN PHOTOS | Following a destructive fire that happened in Block 32 - Extension and Block 6 in Barangay Addition Hills, the Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter - Mandaluyong City Branch has mobilized extensive resources to assist affected residents. The fire, which started around 11:00 AM of May 25, left many families homeless and in urgent need of aid.
Volunteers and Staff of the local PRC office had gathered to distribute Hot Meals to almost 200 individuals that were affected by the fire, ensuring that no one went hungry during this difficult time.
The branch office was quick to respond, dispatching a First Aid Team and Assessment Team when the fire occured. Aside from this we also conducted psychological first aid to some of the residents that were affected.
While the cause of the fire is being investigated, the PRC remains active in providing ongoing support to the victims. The organization encourages the public to practice fire safety measures and participate in community preparedness programs to mitigate future risks.
IN PHOTOS | The Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter - Mandaluyong City Branch swiftly responded to a fire incident that erupted along St. Ignacio Street in Barangay Plainview on the night of May 24. The fire, which started at around 10 PM, prompted immediate action from the local emergency services and the PRC.
Three individuals were catered to by the PRC as part of their emergency response. The organization's trained volunteers and staff were on the scene shortly after the fire was reported, providing first aid, psychological support, and other necessary assistance to those affected.

IN PHOTOS | In the aftermath of the recent fire incident that happened in Blk. 37, Brgy. Addition Hills, the Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter Mandaluyong City Branch extends its helping hands to the families affected by the fire incident last, April 29, 2024.
In the encouraging display of compassion and support, volunteers and staff from Red Cross Mandaluyong arrived with steaming hot meals, providing comfort to more than 200 individuals currently located at Blk. 37 Panatag Covered Court. Aside from this, we were also able to provide Psychological First Aid to some of the evacuees.
