As our campaign continues to grow, we seek guidance from these established organizations and programs that also seek to improve the quality of our environment. ⚠️ The COVID-19 pandemic has forced 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 to refrain from going outside of their homes... or that’s what you might think.

It is true that no human anywhere in the world is exempted from the pandemic protocols of isolating and staying at home to decrease the risk of infection. This is NOT the case for those habituated in forests.

𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 may seem oblivious to what is happening today. They may even be thankful for the imposed stay-at-home protocols and limited transportation for it allows their environment to restore itself and renew the various life forms found in its ecosystems. 🌱🌍

Limited transportation and outdoor activities led to the observable smog-free skies of the Manila skyline. As such, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮?

Our forests are decreasing in number. Thus, our world is turning into a concrete jungle.

Bare forests that are products of deforestation and forest fires do not only affect the survival of numerous plant and animal species, but it also aggravates global warming. As a consequence, we dread and endure the immense heat we feel today which will only worsen if we do not act now to save our future.

It is where we get natural resources such as raw wood, water, and even clean air. Forests are essential to plants, animals, and humans because it has been the home of these living things since the dawn of time. So, we ask this question:

𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴?

In the Philippines, we have the 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐍ᴏ. 𝟑𝟕𝟎𝟏 - 𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐒. And yet, due to the high demand for resources and the never-ending rise of technology, human activities remain the biggest cause of deforestation. Forests are continuously depleting due to deforestation. As we continue to cut down trees and poach plants and animals that are endemic to forests, we continue to threaten the existence of many species and endanger our world. And with global warming escalating, 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫!
