Shake off the nerve of the game, loosen up the pressure, and enjoy the week, together with the Sayklab, where the never-ending fun starts!

So what are you waiting for, Dolfriends? Come visit our booth on the 4th Floor of the Academic Building and treat yourself to some cheesy, yummy goodness! Don't miss out on the fun – see you there!

On January 19th, 2024, the Philippine Christian University-Manila SHS Department held a Math and Science Month Coastal Cleanup Drive at Baseco Beach Port.
Spearheaded by the PCU SHS Science and Sipnayan Club, along with Eco-Fashionistas Candidates and representatives from various clubs and organizations in the SHS Department.

Mr. Jeth Martin Rapiz, along with other teachers from various departments, kicked off the program. Everyone began to clean the dirty seaside, which was filled with laughter, joy, and funny moments. Enjoying the cleanup in the morning sun, everything was done in unity and collaboration with one another. Capturing this unforgettable program that left the beach cleanly with a love and passion for our natural environment. After the cleanup, everyone gathered the trash collected from the beach and began the photoshoot of each from various clubs and organizations.

This program could not be completed without the assistance of everyone, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all student leaders from various clubs and organizations who joined us to fulfill this activity— together with teachers from various departments. This event made a positive impact on our environment by removing litter and promoting a cleaner, healthier coastal ecosystem. Your actions create a lasting impact for a sustainable and thriving future. Let's unite for a cleaner and a greener planet!

ICYMI | On January 23, 2024, the Science Club and Sipnayan Club commenced the anticipated Mathematics and Science Week, with the Math and Science department's coordinators, teachers, and respective advisers. The event took place at the 7th Floor Auditorium of the Science and Technology Building.

Hosts Mr. Jeth Martin Rapiz and Mr. John Paul Gerona captivatingly introduced the opening ceremony. Following this, Angel Rain Villondo, the Head Project Manager of the Sipnayan Club, delivered an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.

Dr. Hannah O. Lopez, the Supervising Principal of Basic Education, took the stage next to express gratitude to all students and teachers present. She emphasized the importance of activities and the significance of Math and Science in our lives.

AJ Jebunan and Jennah Prestoza from the Science Club then performed an intermission number, covering “Tadhana” by Up Dharma Down. Ms. Gel Aquino, the Math Coordinator, and Ms. Shyla Pilapil, the Science Coordinator, then stepped forward to unveil the lineup of activities, including the Math and Science Fair, Quiz Bee, Amazing Race, and the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. Eco-Fashionista 2024 competition.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed to representatives of each respective club and organization for outstanding participation during the Coastal Clean-Up Drive.

Subsequently, candidates for Mr. and Mrs. Eco-Fashionista 2024 graced the stage as they introduced themselves and showcased individual charm. To culminate their showcase, the candidates came together for a mesmerizing dance performance.

As the event approached its conclusion, the spotlight shifted to the Sipnayan Club representatives, enchanting the audience with a cover of “Ako na Lang” by Zia Quizon, accompanied by skillfully played musical instruments.

Following the performance, Mr. Marlon Anthony Tablante, the Senior High School Program Head delivered the closing remarks and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering dedication of advisers and members of the Science and Sipnayan Club in organizing this celebration.

To conclude the event, Karla Heinz Autencio, the Secretary of the Science Club, delivered a closing prayer and signaled the end of the successful opening event.

An 18 year old, a student, an advocate, an eco warrior. This is Rachel Balatico, representing Grade 12-Sergius!

There might be multiple and various problems in our environment, there might be consequences brought by our horrible actions and decisions, there might be complications to our mother earth that can hinder us in having a good life, but one thing for sure is that we can always face these challenges and do something about it, together. Just like what Miss Earth 2015, Angelia Ong said, "We will, because we can". We just have to become a responsible citizen because if we really want to see a change in this world, we need to become one and lead by example. Through our collective efforts, we can achieve great things in life and if we create actions together, we can truly achieve our vision in making change to our ways.

It is my primary advocacy to monitor our ways especially with our consumption and production. We can't deny the fact that all of the natural resources we have might run out in the future if we do not consume or use them properly.

The representative of 11-Samson, Gracielle Batalla, is not here to compete; She's here to help people especially in remote areas.

She said, let’s make our lives better by making use of our resources together and build a zone where everyone sticks up to one another. The program she’ll create will help plant more trees and crops that will definitely reach everyone, not just the top. She encourages everyone, especially dolphins to act now and speak now so we don’t let our environment down.

Beyond the classroom, Nicole's heart beats to the rhythm of her passion for singing and joining extracurricular activities at school. A seasoned organizer, she left her mark early on as the Grade 8 representative on Youth for Environment in School Organization and a former commissioner at Commission on Student Election last academic year. She seamlessly merging leadership and artistic essence, continues to create ripples in the realms of music and advocacy.

Speaking of, her advocacy is called "Charity for all”, this is committed to addressing the environmental impact of fast fashion and the overconsumption of clothing. Her focus is on making a meaningful change by connecting with small communities facing adversity. By encouraging donations of fast fashion clothes to less fortunate individuals, she believes that we're not only contributing to reducing environmental pollution but also empowering the impoverished communities. She also believes that this creates a sustainable and compassionate approach to fashion that benefits both our planet and those in need. Queen Angelus R. Dacallos, 16 years old, proudly represents 11-Seraphim from the STEM department. I'm not just a participant but a fervent advocate for a cause that lights up our future.

A shy, introverted girl who has been receiving awards for her academic excellence. She has been on the honor roll since elementary, and she has also shown her spark through her sport, chess. During junior high school, her team won the investigatory project for their smoke-air filtering machine, a way to contribute to a better future for everyone.

Make way for her as she comes out of her comfort zone.

Joining a pageant is something new to me, but expanding my horizons can help me grow as a person. Just like how we should embrace change for a better cause for our future, embrace renewable resources. Angelica Mendoza Contreras, Ms. Eco Fashionista 2024 Candidate. She's 17 years old from HUMSS grade 11-Hirah, She is an example of perseverance,persistence and determination as a dedicated advocate helping our environment. She stands on the ideas on minimizing our waste, conserving it, and encourages sustainable practices.

Angelica is an independent young woman a working student who not only excels academically but also contributes to her own financial well-being by the age of 16 she can already provide for herself and contribute in their household, and always been included in top list since grade. She also is a proud member of the Filipino Club, and has joined eco fashion as well in Manuel A. Roxas High school.

She is looking forward to show people how important it is to care,support and look-out for our environment the were living in, and hopes individuals to understand how small actions play an important role in maintaining the well-being of our planet and believes that each one of us holds the power to make our world even more better.
