💬 Tissues and smears must be received fixed. Tissues in formalin, Smears previously dipped in ethyl alcohol (95%) or methanol.

👉 We accept small specimens taken from biopsy procedures, regardless of organ.
👉 We accept tissues, smears, and fluids. We do not accept large specimens (resections, radical procedures, etc.)
👉 We accept air dried smears (must indicate if such).
👉 We do not process tissues in house, but we send-out to a reputable laboratory for such. We take care of this step, up to the time slides are made.
👉 The slides are read by our pathologist, and an official report is made.
👉 Special stains may be done, depending on the difficulty of the case. The patient will be called and told of additional charges for such stains.
👉 The entire process may take 4-6 working days.

👉 Requirements:
📌 Fixed tissues, or smears
📌 Proper labels and request form from the referring doctor

💬 A biopsy procedure that we do for palpable (“nakakapa”) masses (“bukol”).
💬 A fine needle (“manipis na karayom”) is inserted into a palpable mass, aspirating cells and smeared on a slide.

💬 The smears are fixed and stained in a matter of seconds.
💬 The pathologist reads the smears, in a matter of minutes.
💬 A report is generated.

💬 Pathologist explains to the patient and/or family the report (whether benign, malignant, or other..)

👉 The whole procedure takes less than 30 minutes.

👉 Requirements: patient, appointment (or on the spot appearance), relevant work-ups (ultrasound, scans, others).
