In the Western Pacific Region, almost 100 million people are living with chronic hepatitis B and over 7 million are living with chronic hepatitis C.

It’s time for action! Know how you can prevent hepatitis:

👶🏻Vaccinate infants against hepatitis B.
💉Ensure sterile injections.
🪒Don’t share razors.
👂🏾Use safe tattooing and piercing equipment.
💋Practise safe s*x.
🧪Know your status by getting tested for hepatitis B and C.

🔹 Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on weekends.
🔹 If possible, make your sleeping area quiet, dark, relaxing and at a comfortable temperature.

There has been stunning progress in the past 50 years thanks to the Expanded Programme on Immunization, but vaccination coverage in the Western Pacific has declined in the past few years.

1.3 million children in the Region did not receive all the recommended doses of life-saving vaccines in 2023, of whom 823,000 did not get a single dose.
