QOW205 - "Kata no roku gensoku” - Six Principles of Kata
The principles are especially relevant to us in Goju. Along with the original breathing "Kisoku no Donto" - 気息の呑吐, (The fifth principle), the curved movement which is based on a circle creates what is known as Muchimi. Kisoku no Donto is a breathing method controlling abdominal breathing and training our body from inside. We practice this breathing method by doing the Kihon kata, Sanchin and Tensho.

I.K.G.A. Philippines
We are the Philippine Branch of the International Karate-do Gojukai Association, Goju Kai Philippines, teaching the Goju Ryu (Hard-Soft) style of Karate as taught by the Yamaguchi Family, today headed up by Worldwide President, Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi.
The Philippine Branch is represented by Branch Chief Richard Lim Sensei (front, center of cover photo), and supported by Senior Instructor Greg Sanger Sensei (front, 2nd from left).
Philippines is part of the Asia Bloc within the I.K.G.A. organisation, headed up by Bloc Director Gohei Yamaguchi Shihan, supported by Asia Bloc Secretary Hideki Wakasugi Shihan.
The Yamaguchi school of Goju Ryu, and I.K.G.A. was introduced to the Philippines by Shin Tsukii Shihan, now Secretary General of the I.K.G.A. Globally, and we are fortunate to still have be supported by him today. Tsukii Shihan also supports the Philippines as one of the Philippines National Coaches for WKF/AKF competitions.
