President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the 'Iisang Nasyon, Iisang Aksyon: Tapusin ang Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) Ngayon' Summit 2024 at the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City on September 16, 2024.

Organized by the International Justice Mission (IJM) in partnership with the Department of Justice - Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Summit aims to break cultural barriers to reporting OSAEC cases and formally launches a nationwide campaign to boost local reporting and community engagement.

In line with these efforts, the campaign aligns with the Chief Executive's directive issued earlier this year, calling for stronger law enforcement initiatives to rescue victims, prosecute offenders and promote a comprehensive whole-of-nation strategy against OSAEC.

Moreover, the Summit highlights the crucial role of LGUs in tackling OSAEC despite progress in passing measures and directives such as Executive Order No. 67 which established the Presidential Office for Child Protection.

The 2023 Scale of Harm study by IJM and the University of Nottingham Rights Lab revealed that around half a million Filipino children or one (1) in 100 were victims of online sexual exploitation in 2022, underscoring the need for grassroots efforts to promote crime reporting.

Scheduled from 12-28 September 2025, the Men's World Championship will see 32 national teams vying for volleyball's top prize. The tournament has two (2) automatic qualifiers, the Philippines as host country and defending champion Italy.

As he celebrates his birthday today, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pays homage to all the agricultural workers — whose hard work and sacrifices have greatly contributed to ensuring the nation’s food security — as he joins the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in distributing the Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCRoM) to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on September 13, 2024.

According to DAR, the distribution in the Province of Nueva Ecija is the first-ever to be held in Central Luzon. Following the passage and full implementation of Republic Act (RA) No. 11953 or the New Agrarian Emancipation Act (NAEA), these certificates exempt the ARBs from estate tax and include them in the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture — serving as a tangible expression of the Administration’s commitment to completely relieve the ARBs from financial burden.

A total of 9,832 COCRoM are distributed, relieving around 6,000 ARBs from paying their loans amounting to PhP277 million and cover 10,450 hectares of agricultural lands. During the ceremonial event, the President hands over the COCRoM to 10 select ARBs in the Province.

To recall, the Chief Executive signed the NAEA on 7 July 2023 which condones all loans, including interests, penalties and surcharges incurred by ARBs from land awarded under Presidential Decree (PD) 27, RA No. 6657 and RA No. 9700. Around 600,000 farmers are said to benefit from the Law, covering more than 1.7 million hectares of agrarian reform lands nationwide.

Apart from the COCRoM, PhP41 million worth of agri-credit checks to 480 ARBs representing 12 ARB Organizations (ARBOs) are also being handed over. During the program, the President and DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III distribute mock checks to five (5) select Accessible Loan for Empowered, Resilient, and Transformed (ALERT) ARBOs.

Another highlight of today’s event is President Marcos Jr. witnessing the live coverage of the ‘Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat’, a job fair led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that is simultaneously conducted in all districts nationwide.

Following the ceremony, the Chief Executive witnesses the live coverage of the simultaneous ‘Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat’ event which is held across all regions and provinces nationwide.

Advancing the Administration’s commitment to agrarian reform, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the distribution of 1,119 Certificates of Condonation and Release of Mortgage (COCROMs), encompassing 1,728.349 hectares (ha) of land, to 1,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) during a ceremony at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Gymnasium in Diliman, Quezon City on September 12, 2024.

The government has condoned approximately PhP274.9 million in debts for ARBs across several municipalities in Bulacan: San Miguel, Baliwag, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, Angat, Bustos, Norzagaray, Balagtas, Bocaue, Pandi, San Jose del Monte and Sta. Maria.

This distribution of COCROMs fulfills the mandate of Republic Act (RA) No. 11953, known as the New Agrarian Emancipation Act (NAEA), which aims to eliminate all unpaid principal amortizations, interest and surcharges on agricultural lands awarded under the government’s agrarian reform program.

Additionally, the event includes the awarding of 343 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) covering 232.76 ha to 287 ARBs from Nasugbu, Batangas (Region IV-A). This initiative is part of DAR’s accelerated land title distribution program, aligning with the President’s directive to complete the agrarian land distribution program by 2028.

As of September 2024, the DAR has successfully distributed 136,116 land titles to 138,718 ARBs nationwide covering a total of 164,088 ha. An additional 101,666 titles are set for distribution in the remaining months of 2024.
