Hello guys. Kumusta?
April is Month of the Planet Earth. Ato padayunon atong nasugdan.
Training young IPs about upcycling. This time they learned how hot make flower pots out of empty plastic bottles and cute bags from used sando bags.
hello everyone, please share your eco-brick moments here :)
Thank you Angelli Doña for supporting our Eco Brick Campaign 😍♥️
Challenging everyone to post their Eco-brick moments here in this page 😍
What is Eco-brick?
“According to the Global Alliance(GEA) eco-bricks are an empty PET plastic bottle stuffed rigid with un-recyclable plastics such as food wrappers, plastics bags, plastic food containers or Styrofoam”.
Creating Eco Brick will help our Mother Earth, it will stop the water pollution by using the Eco Brick and it can make so many recycled things like furniture, walls, and buildings. It was produced primarily means of managing plastic waste by sequestering it and also containing safely.
Also, eco-bricks can be a boat to use when there is a flood. We can use plastic in different ways after we use plastics we just throw it away and leave it behind. It can cause a flood in the city much worse is when it goes to the ocean it will harm the animals. Recycling can help to save our loved ones and also to save animals too.

According to Eco bricks Philippines [1] “Yes, there are two types of eco-bricks: Normal is for clean and dry plastics, from our day to day consumption. Best for furniture or anything at home (indoors): modules, LEGO, and more ways to use them. While OCEAN ECO BRICKS is for big chunky dirty plastics, even wet one that usually comes from pick up activities: beach, river, mountain or any non-biodegradable which scattered around.” we can see that eco-bricks has a lot more to offer because it can use to build house or any furniture in our house since there are so many plastics that scattered around we can use it as a foundation to build a house we dream.
According to Kevin Rebultan “Compared to the standard hollow block with only 150 PSI or the resistance to downward force in pounds per square inch cement eco-bricks are heavier, sturdier and more compact. Depending on the shredded plastics mixed with them, cement eco-bricks have up to 670, 770, and 870 PSI. This means that the structures built with them are four times stronger”. According to his article, those eco-bricks are stronger than normal hollow blocks which are using eco-bricks to build your house is not a bad choice your home is a lot much stronger when there’s an earthquake.
According to greenpeace.org “people living along rivers and coastlines in China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam are the most impacted by plastic pollution.” Since we are in the top 3 that will affect the most by using plastic we turn the plastic into eco-bricks we can do this by helping each other to lessen the plastic we have right now. Eco-bricks are eco-friendly also because we are helping the earth, animals, and people.
Greenpeace Together we can change the world
Every 24 hours we create much plastic because we need it to use it in our daily life, but many experts are studying how to lessen the making of plastics. Since we are making it every day why don’t we take action and make the plastics in our home to recycle?
According to cleanaway.com.au that “single-use plastic is a growing problem worldwide and maker for low-grade and soft plastic are virtually non-existent because they are not of a high enough quality to reuse in the manufacturing of new materials. Ecobricks represent a low-cost recycling alternative”.
Many people are trying to save the earth and many people are recycling the plastics, but it is not enough to lessen the plastics in the ocean and the land. Just collecting the plastics and cut it into pieces and put it inside of the bottle can lessen the pollution of plastics.
Plastic is the number one enemy in our society right now and we are not the only ones who are affected there are animals too. We need to act as one to lessen the plastic around us. Using the eco brick we can lessen the plastic and there are so many things to do using the plastic, not just eco-bricks. Let's help each other to build the future of the next generation.

Aside from eco bricks we can also make brick tiles out from plastiç wastes.
One of the fundamental principles of Ecobricking is of circular, cradle-to-cradle, design. Ecobricks leverage the resilient properties of plastic to create reusable building blocks. When we build with ecobricks we plan for the end of the application and for next life of every ecobrick.
Ecobrick Circular Design Ecobricks are 100% Cradle-to-Cradle! Ecobrick Techniques Apply the Principles of Circular Design to transform dead-end plastic, into a building block that can be used, over and over again.

Have you started your own?
Let's walk the talk!
When you happen to visit the Municipality of Maramag you'll see the landscaping at the back (garden box) very artsy as they used recycled bottles of mismo in their garden box. And later I know that this practice is called as Ecobricks.
An eco-brick is one of the new solutions to recycle plastic. They are plastic bottles filled tightly with used, clean and dry plastic to achieve a building block that can be used over and over again.
In CMU we are hoping to maximize the use of eco bricks as substitute to hollow blocks in building houses/rooms.
When plastics are littered, dumped and burned, it pollutes our environment. But when we can reuse these plastics to build instead of destroy, we can get out of the usual cycle of all ‘waste’ and ‘trash’ and to raise awareness that will grow to put us on a path to using plastics wisely.
I hope that in CMU we can fundamentally put the principle of reducing waste into practice by responsibly managing our solid waste into a reusable eco bricks.
Id like to invite all our students to share their eco brick making journey in this page. Salamat!
