MATAMAN KO siyang pinagmamasdan.
โCongrats, Ma!โ

Central Mindanao University held its 70th Commencement Exercises on June 20โ21, 2024, at the University Convention Center, celebrating the achievements of over 2,954 students from undergraduate and graduate programs across its 10 colleges. The event, themed "Global Citizenship through Lifelong Learning," highlighted the university's commitment to preparing students to become responsible and engaged global citizens.
This year's graduating class includes three summa cm laude, 180 magna cm laude, and 1,204 cm laude graduates. The total of 2,954 graduates includes 275 from the College of Human Ecology (CHE), 87 from the College of Forestry and Environmental Science (CFES), 559 from the College of Agriculture (CA), 82 from the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), 114 from the College of Nursing (CON), 122 from the College of Information Science and Computing (CISC), 327 from the College of Engineering (COE), 363 from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), 475 from the College of Business and Management (CBM), and 550 from the College of Education (COEd).
Different speakers at the commencement exercises sent off the Class of 2024 with the highest hopes.
The first batch of graduates included students from the College of Business and Management (CBM) and the College of Education (COEd). Meanwhile, Usec. Roger V. Navarro, Undersecretary for Operations of the Department of Agriculture, the guest speaker, encouraged the graduates to strive for excellence rooted in strong personal values rather than prioritizing success defined by external measures alone.
"It is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of success and external validation, but true fulfillment stems from integrity, empathy, and authenticity. Feed your soul and your mind every single day. Do not confuse success with excellence. Success is borne by your dedication and the hard work that you have invested in your work, while excellence is its by-product," Usec. Navarro stated.
In addition, graduates from Batch Two, comprising the College of Agriculture (CA), the College of Forestry & Environmental Science (CFES), and the College of Human Ecology (CHE), held their graduation ceremonies on the second day in the morning. Atty. Joel Dexter C. Nagtalon, COMELEC Officer for the Province of Misamis Oriental, stressed the importance of lifelong learning, curiosity, and making a positive impact as keys to success and fulfillment, regardless of one's specific field or path.
"Wherever you choose to go, make sure that you never stop learning. Ensure that you are continually, perpetually adding to your bank of knowledge, investing in your own expertise, and leaving places better than when you found them. Be interested in the world. Be curious, no matter what field you are pursuingโalways take pride in your work. There is no one degree that is more useful than others. There is no one path that is right. No one place is better. Progressing forward when people across all fields of society work together cohesively with each other is what's most important," Atty. Nagtalon said.
Moreover, Asec. Francisco Ashley L. Acedillo, from the Office of the Director General for Cyber Security and Emerging Threats at the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Office of the President, addressed the graduates of the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Information Sciences & Computing, the College of Nursing, and the College of Veterinary Medicine, highlighting the need for lifelong learning and adaptability in the face of a rapidly changing global landscape.
Asec. Acedillo ended his remarks with advice: "Remember, never seek glory. Glory is just a byproduct and a bonus. Rather, seek meaning. For each and every relationship, give meaning, add meaning. Do not do things for glory or accolades, as they are just a product. People will not remember what you say or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Remember, 'sic transit gloria mundi' - all glory in the world is but passing. Rather, aim for meaning."
Furthermore, CMU President, Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, commended the graduates for their hard work and dedication and encouraged them to use their knowledge and skills to become active and responsible global citizens.
Meanwhile, various guests, honorees, faculty and staff, as well as graduates' parents, attended the said event. Additionally, the university's commitment to producing well-rounded, socially conscious individuals was evident in the theme and the diverse array of guest speakers.

The 4th Municipal Circuit Trial Court favored Central Mindanao University in its Forcible Entry case against the BUFFALO-TAMARAW-LIMUS Multipurpose Cooperative.
In a decision dated June 18, 2024, the court ruled that CMU is entitled to recover possession of the land. Moreover, the BTL is ordered to vacate the areas that they occupied and pay an annual rental fee of P20,000.00 per hectare from the time they occupied the areas until they vacate as reasonable compensation for the use of the land. They are also ordered to remove the fences, shanties, and improvements they made and surrender them to the university.
It can be recalled that the BTL illegally occupied a total of 35 hectares of land within the university premises on July 31, 2023, that now reached to no less than 155 hectares.

The spirit of Eid al-Adha fills the air, a joyous celebration for Muslims everywhere! This special day, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," honors the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), a man of immense faith and devotion. We remember his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail (Ishmael), as an ultimate act of obedience to God's will.
Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of the importance of dedication to our beliefs, putting the needs of others before our own, and the spirit of generosity. May this holiday bring you and your loved ones an abundance of peace, joy, and cherished moments together. Wishing you a truly blessed and delightful Eid!

"Dapat molihok si LGU, both municipal and provincial, ug especially si national government to actively defend and protect CMU's landholdings...

Did you slay the finals or did the finals slay you? Whichever it may be, you still deserve a pat on the back for trying your best. In the week full of chaos and stress, we hope you had the time to take a break and refresh yourself at Kapehan sa OSAS. Relaxing on the mats and sofas with a board game of your choice, with an unlimited cup of coffee and bread beside you โ Yes! There's no better bliss than having time and pressure wait for you outside of OSAS.
