Our Bluefin and Hamachi tasting was such a hit but honestly I feel the price was SOOOOO RESTRICTIVE. Like you wouldn't want to swallow what's in your mouth anymore - I felt it was that expensive.

Then, just tonight Mam C.S.B. asked us how much a whole Hamachi fish would be? (The one pictured below is 4.8KG!)

So I made some computations and actually - WHY NOT?

We can go as low as P3,600/kg (fresh/whole weight). This includes the entrails (ungutted). Our fish importer says that's the industry practice to prove that the fish is really captured like a day before (it is air-flown from Japan). See how red the gills are.

At P3,600/kg (or about P18,000/whole fish) you would get roughly 500g sashimi cuts. That comes around to about P7.2/gram sashimi cut. Our retail price for Hamachi sashimi is P12/gram!

THAT'S A 40% PRICE REDUCTION!!!
