September 21, 2021 we commemorated the International Day of Peace.
The Marikina City Lions Club of District 301-D2 Philippines together with Mjf Lion Tejas Jain of District 3234 H2 India presented the LIONS MUSICAL TWINNING FOR PEACE.
We are grateful to each and everyone of you for supporting this project.
To attain peace, we believe in fostering understanding among nations, communities and people.
And yes, the first step to understanding is lending a good ear, listening.
We are one with you, not just hearing our brother's dreams, hopes, fears, pains and doubts... but also we would like to share your joy on your achievementd, victories and upon realizing your dreams and meeting your needs.
Our LIONS MUSICAL TWINNING FOR PEACE is our humble act of kindness and a step towards the attainment of Peace.
The zoom was full packed from start to the end and 1660 people watched the live broadcast on facebook. The live broadcast in facebook was shared 58 times.

La Union Host Lions Club headed by 2nd VDG Jeff Zamoranos II participated in the Lions Musical for Peace.

Roxanne Abuel is a soprano who graduated from UP College of Music cm laude. She has sung in many productions and plays like Noli Me Tangere the Opera in CCP and Magnificat, a musical directed by Laurice Guillen and music by Ryan Cayabyab and Nestor Torre this 2019. She has also performed in Germany, France, Malaysia, and Guam with the Palawan Chamber Choir and Assumption Community. She has been a teacher for singing aspirants and has been coaching choirs and groups for their performances. Up to this day, she continues to teach and inspire people to sing their heart out.
Roxanne is the daughter of IPDG Raymundo Abuel Jr. and FL Ma. Ma Theresa Abuel .

Marikina City Lions Club headed by Pres. Ziffred Ancheta met the needs of the different transport groups in Marikina by providing them with proper uniforms.
Meeting the needs of the transport group provided a harmonious relationship thus promoting peace and understanding.
Uniforms provided were long sleeves dry fit shirts to prevent them from getting burned by the sun.

LET’S HELP FIGHT MENTAL STRESS AMONG SPECIAL CHILDREN – Marikina City Lions Club and Marikina City Leo Club continue its efforts of helping children with disabilities to fight mental stress during pandemic.
The Leos visits children with special needs and provide appropriate toys to help ensure that they are not susceptible to illness, experience fatigue, loss of sleep and lack of appetite that can lead to lower quality of life.

UPLIFTING THE DIGNITY AND RESPECT AMONG DRIVERS - Marikina City Lions Club president and Coun. Ziffred Ancheta distributes uniform for GOTODA drivers/operators at Marikina Heights.
'You don't need to wear expensive clothes to command respect. Just properly wear your uniform. It will reflect how you value your profession and how you respect your passengers,' Ancheta said.
MCLC encourages the drivers to continously observe health protocols while serving the passengers amidst the challenges of pandemic.

HELP FIGHT MENTAL STRESS DURING PANDEMIC - Marikina City Leo Club president Eya Camacho and SK Chair Marlou Parro continuously brings joy to children with disabilities in the commumity through door-to-door delivery of toys.
'This is our simple way of helping the children fight mental stress during ECQ. When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides to help fight stress, while the serotonin is an antidepressant,' MCLC club president and Coun. Ziffred Ancheta said.
