There are a lot of misconceptions about branding. One is that branding is a part of marketing. I don't agree about that. It's a way to simplify branding and make it about visuals. It's so much more than that.

- Branding is about creating an experience of the brand in all touchpoints.
- Branding is about connecting with people on an emotional level to make people feel something.
- Branding is about making people feel belonging and a feeling about who you are.
A lot of clients (and creatives) talk about branding as the visual part of a brand.
The truth is that it’s so much more!
I see the Brand strategy as the foundation. Then you have different vehicles that I include in branding:

- Brand design: The visual touchpoints
- Brand behaviour: The way you walk the talk, or Live the brand in every experience with the brand. Sales, customer service..
- Brand communication: How you write and tell stories that will win hearts and minds. Founders story, purpose story and customer stories.
If you get these 3 parts to align you will give your customers more value and it will help elevate your brand. But it will also elevate the designers role. This is how you go from maker to thinker. This is how you get a seat at the table with the c-suites.

Don't forget to allign it with marketing. I prefer to have an integrated plan for both. The are like siblings and they need walk side by side for the best result.

✅ trust your instinct. If it feels off or something. Be wary.
✅ don’t be judgmental. We all have our own path and journey.
✅ have a gratitude attitude
✅ always act with kindness and grace. People gravitate towards you when you are in the same frequency and vibration.
✅ trust the universe. The universe aligned you with well meaning people. If it doesn’t happen, it is because the universe is protecting you.
