A blessed day, everyone! They say that a teacher’s influence remains forever in people’s heart. Our good friend and colleague, Ms. Patricia Anne J. Timoteo, a Grade 11 faculty member, is fighting for her life in the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center's intensive care unit (ICU) after being diagnosed with diabetes, pneumonia, and cerebral edema (brain swelling).

Ms. Timoteo has been in the hospital since September 1, 2023 and their hospital bill is accumulating quite a huge amount every day. At this time, their hospital bill is close to a million.

As her family in San Juan High School, the Senior High Department is conducting a fundraising activity to support and at least help on her expenses. From September 11 to September 15, 2023, we, the Senior High teachers, will start selling various goods to the SJHS faculty and non-teaching staff in order to raise money for Ms. Timoteo's family to pay for her medical bills. Without a doubt, Earth has been a generous planet. The natural environment around us has provided us with everything we've needed to exist and thrive: food, water, medicine, building materials, and even natural cycles like climate and nutrition.

Because our planet is the only one with the ability to sustain life, it is becoming increasingly necessary to instill a feeling of urgency about the need to protect our mother earth from all types of planet-harming actions. Our mother earth must be safeguarded since it is the sole source of our survival. It is our duty to promote awareness about the need of safeguarding our mother earth.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

We still have time to make a positive difference. Everyone can have a role in limiting climate change. We can make a difference in everything we do, from how we travel to the electricity we use and the food we consume, and the most crucial step is to raise awareness about the situation we are facing.

No age, no gender, and no race exempted on nutrition concerns. Many people suffer from both undernutrition and overnutrition. Some of us tend to focus more on the things outside ourselves, and we forget to look at what we need to keep us healthy. By eating the right food, we are starting to end different global issues in nutrition. To love ourselves means to be healthy. Eating nutritious foods is an act of self-love. Now, this is your time to show your love to yourself.

Our country's art reflects the wide spectrum of artistic influences that have influenced our culture. It must not be overlooked or forgotten. Food and natural resources, on the other hand, are extremely important in our daily life. We get our nutrients from the food we consume and the water we drink. These are critical during these tough times to keep our bodies healthy and free of various ailments.

We, the GPN Advocacy Champions, Project Watch Organization, and Supreme Student Government from San Juan High School, believe in the necessity of a well-balanced diet that includes Pinggang Pinoy. Let us work together to achieve the aim of fostering healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle in order to address stunting, malnutrition, and other nutrition issues.
