No Exit No Entry

Driving is close to being a lost art and I would want to believe that everyone will learn how to man

Driving may be a long lost art in the Philippines, but I would like to think that there are still some real drivers who understand the privilege. I would like to start this movement for awareness that traffic is already bad as it is, but we can still make it bearable for everyone, keep heads cool and lessen road rage (honking your horn inappropriately is considered road rage, btw). Yes, you can drive, but that's more of maneuvering your car, but can you DRIVE?

Okay.

You could have caused an accident, and you surely slowed down traffic again, may inabala ka nanaman.

Swerving is not a violation, but reckless driving is. Just because you were driving slow, it doesn't mean na hindi reckless yung ginawa mo.

Kung kanan ka pala all the way, dapat hindi mo sa kaliwa inovertake-an yung Hilux.

"Alam ko kung mali ako o tama ako kuya" - this is a very dangerous statement ha. E papaano kung yung alam mong tama e mali pala. Reckless driving ka di mo pala alam.

What you did is reckless driving, it is dangerous to you and to other motorists and posting this video to make other motorists think that this is okay is not okay.

Be disciplined on the road, and be courteous on the road. Be mindful of the traffic and of other motorists.

Spot the other kamote 🤣

Wag niyo na sila idiscriminate or ibully, please.

Watch: Van pulled over by enforcer on SLEX for hogging left lane 29/12/2020

This has become my pet peeve lately. Left most lane is overtaking only. The next lane is for fast moving vehicles. If you want to cruise at around 80 don’t stay in the fast lane, otherwise faster moving vehicles would either hog the overtaking lane or overtake to the right.

Kamotes only recognize 2 lanes in the expressway. 🤣

It isn't that hard to be considerate towards other people, is it? Before you react, I want us all to reflect when we last showed consideration on the road? May of us would want to believe that we are always considerate, but some may be wrong. Take the usage of turn signals, for an example. You may have observed that a majority of fiilpino drivers use turn signals, yes it's true, just not properly. When exactly do you use turn signals? Just as you switch lanes? In the middle of switching lanes? Or moments after switching lanes? Which one is the most considerate thing to do? Some would say that using the turn signal as they switch is the best way to go since the car behind will not give way as soon as they see that a car will cut in front of them. I say, unless you have the mentality of the car behind, it's THEIR problem, not yours. Improper use of turn signals is not only incosiderate, but also dangerous. So what if the other driver doesn't give way, the next might. Who knows. Just wait for that one driver who will let you merge. Think about it the next time you hit the road, will you?

Ano nawalan ng preno? Bus companies with drivers like this should cease to exist.

Would you enter a mall or a building at its exit just as you would do at a gas station?

This is an unpopular opinion, not just here in the Philippines but in other countries as well.

There is a reason why ENTRANCE and EXIT signs exist at gas stations - so you know where to enter and exit, right? But it's also for the smooth flow of traffic inside the area and around the pumping stations. But this is not enforced and the signs are proven useless. Doesn't seem to be a problem with gasoline boys and pump attendants, right? It's because this has become the norm. They don't bother pointing us to the right direction anymore, because most of us are a**l when confronted.

As you can see in the video, the truck is already close to a stop upon crossing the intersection.

You see, the larger your load is, the longer it takes for you to come to a complete stop, moreso if you are speeding. So this truck was cruising on a highway with very light traffic, and he tried to rush to the intersection instead of slowing down to anticipate the change in traffic lights. Light turned orange, then to red. The driver couldn't stop even if he wanted to, because his vehicle is huge, and he's driving fast considering that he was approaching an intersection.

Your take?

Have you ever gotten stuck in the middle of an intersection on a red light, blocking cars from moving on on their green light? If yes, I bet you blame the traffic and the traffic light for the situation. Aren't there enough signs to remind you to keep intersections, driveways and pedestrian lanes clear?

Filipino drivers find it acceptable to always have someone else, or something else to blame even when you are behind the wheel and in control of your vehicle.

Would you accept the fact that you are stuck in the middle of the intersection on a red light by your own negligence? If you cannot and would not, and when you get apprehended, be prepared to explain why you did not stop before the intersection upon seeing that your exit road is not clear.
