We extend our warmest greetings to all those who have expressed curiosity and concern regarding the Election Processes of the University Supreme Student Government-URSM (USSG-URSM). We appreciate your inquiry, and we understand the importance of transparency in the democratic process. First and foremost, we would like to clarify the circumstances that have led to the appointment of new elected officers for the USSG-URSM. It is with great responsibility that we provide insight into the reasoning behind the course of action that has been taken.

In the case of a lone party, the USSG-URSM was bound by both its Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) and Republic Act No. 8295, an act that guides the proclamation of a lone candidate when there is only one qualified candidate for a particular position.

Various challenges made the scheduling of a Meeting De Avance impractical: the absence of opposing candidates due to the lone party situation, overlapping activities at both campus and university levels, and class suspensions that limited available time.

Furthermore, the timing of the University Student Federation Election, scheduled for the following Monday, necessitated swift action to ensure effective representation of the campus within the broader university framework.

In addition, we conducted a screening on August 25 at OSDS 2nd floor to assess the eligibility of the candidates. All candidates successfully completed and passed this screening process.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding of the complexities surrounding this process. We remain committed to upholding the values of democracy, fairness, and accountability within our student government.
