Ipon challenge mga bess…..
take ACTION, DISCIPLINE and RIGHT MINDSET.

"𝐏𝐚𝐠 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢 𝐬𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐝 𝐤𝐨, 𝐦𝐚𝐠-𝐢𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐤𝐨."

I have a question for you, pag ba tumaas ang sahod mo sigurado ka bang mag-iipon ka na o mas lalaki lang lalo ang expenses mo at dadami lang lalo ang luho mo?

Let me tell you my story..

I started with an entry-level job with a low salary. But that's okay kasi I needed experience that time.

Then after a year, sabi ko I want a high-paying job kasi I want to save. Pero hindi ako lumipat ng trabaho. I used the free time I have in office to study and try different things.

I opened my small online shop.

Then I wanted to have a license for teaching so I took some units and went back to school while working full-time.

Fast forward after I had a baby and got married..

I already had three sources of income: My full-time job, my part-time job plus my online shop.

But still.. I felt like I'm still lacking money. May savings pero nagagalaw. Kumikita nga pero di nakaka-ipon ng sapat.

I knew then there was a problem with me and my spending habits.

Hindi ako maluho na tao. My problem was, I didn't know how to handle my money well.

I opened my mind to become financially literate. I read a lot of articles and books, I watched webinars and youtube tutorials, I joined FB Groups to broaden my knowledge about finance and different ways to invest and diversify money.

But let me tell you a secret.. these are all NOTHING without ACTION, DISICPLINE and a RIGHT MINDSET.

It's about me and my self-discipline.

If I really want to learn and do new things, I should take an action and stop procrastinating.

If I really want to save money for my future self, I have to start now and make it a commitment to myself.

If I really want to change my life and my financial situation, I have to believe that I can do it because no one else will do it for me.. ONLY ME.

Now bes, kaya mo bang i-challenge yung sarili mo to take actions now and start disciplining yourself?

𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟱𝟬/𝟮𝟬/𝟯𝟬 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻

Saving is difficult, it requires a lot of discipline and when life often throws unexpected expenses at us. By following the 50-20-30 rule, individuals have a plan with how they should manage their hard-earned money. If they find that their expenditures on wants are more than 20%, they can find ways to reduce those expenses that will help direct funds to more important areas such as emergency funds and retirement.

𝟱𝟬% 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀

Needs are those bills that you absolutely must pay and are the things necessary for 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.
These include rent or mortgage payments, car loan payments, groceries, insurance, health care, utilities, gas, cellphone load and internet provider subscription. These are your “𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀.” The “needs” category does not include items that are extras, such as HBO, Netflix, Starbucks, and dining out.

If you are spending more than that on your needs, you will have to either cut down on wants or try to downsize your lifestyle, perhaps to a smaller home or more modest car. Maybe carpooling or taking public transportation to work is a solution, or cooking at home more often.

𝟯𝟬% 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀

Wants are all the things you spend money on that are not absolutely essential. This includes dinner and movies out, that new handbag, tickets to events, concerts, vacations, the latest cellphone, electronic gadgets, and ultra-high-speed internet. Anything in the “wants” bucket is optional if you boil it down.
You can work out at home instead of going to the gym, cook instead of eating out, or watch sports on TV instead of getting tickets to the game. Basically, wants are all those 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀 you spend money on that make life more enjoyable and entertaining.

𝟮𝟬% 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀

Finally, try to allocate 20% of your net income to savings and investments. This includes adding money to an 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 in a bank savings account, mutual fund account, and investing in the stock market. You should have at least 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 of emergency funds on hand in case you lose your job or if an unexpected medical expenses, or for any other unforeseen events. After that focus on retirement and meeting other financial goals down the road.

Saving for retirement is also a critical step as individuals are living longer. Calculating how much you will need for retirement and working towards that goal, beginning at a young age will ensure a comfortable retirement life.

Life should be enjoyed, and it is not recommended to live like a Spartan, but having a plan and sticking to it will allow you to cover your expenses, save for retirement all at the same time doing the activities that make you happy.

One good tip to avoid spending money on impulse.

27/04/2022

When creating a budget it is best to start by drafting a budget that is realistic and something you can stick with.

Try using the 20-30-50 Budgeting Ratio

The budgeting ratio says

• 20% should be immediately saved (goals or retirement) or put towards paying down debt.

• 30% should be the maximum you spend on housing.

• 50% should be spent on everything else.

If your take home pay is 50,000 a month, you should aim to:

• Put at least 10,000 towards your retirement accounts, emergency fund, or your debts.

• Pay no more than 15,000 a month in rent or a mortgage.

• Pay no more than 25,000 for everything else.

💯‼️

Mga ka-Chink, let me share with you some practices that I do to monitor and maintain my finances.

KEEP TRACK OF YOUR INCOME

KEEP TRACK OF YOUR DUE DATE AND EXPENSES

Mga ka-Chink, I am encouraging all of you to always take note of your due dates.

Kaya naman make sure to make good debt and if you have one, bayaran na ito in full cash para walang interest.

HAVE A STRONG FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE

This is very important.

We should be very mindful in making decisions especially if we have our goal.

“Dapat malinaw sa ating isipan kung ano ang gusto natin para nakaayon dito ang ating mga desisyon at gagawin.”
– Chinkee Tan, Filipino Motivational Speaker

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.

1. Anu-ano ang mga pinagkukuhanan ninyo ng income?
3. Gaano katibay ang iyong financial discipline?

10 Debt Paydown Challenges (Fun!) — Cash for Kat 06/04/2022

The Debt Snowball Challenge is one of the simplest and most popular methods for paying off debt. In this challenge, all you do is list your debts in order from the smallest to the largest.

Then, you pay the minimum payments on all of your debts except for the one with the smallest balance. For that debt, you pay as much money as you can each month until it is paid off.

Once that debt is paid off, you move on to the next smallest debt and continue paying the minimums on the rest of your debts. As the snowball gains momentum (just like a metaphorical snowball going down a hill collects more snow), you will likely want to save more to speed up its journey!

10 Debt Paydown Challenges (Fun!) — Cash for Kat Debt paydown challenges are a fun way to help you become debt-free faster! This post covers every fun debt paydown challenge!

Let us be grateful for everything that we have imbis na ma-stress tayo sa mga bagay na hindi pa natin nakukuha.

Tandaan na if we want to feel the essence of contentment, it’s important to practice gratitude. We must be aware na walang permanente sa mundong ito. And that life is not a race or a competition. It is about self-sustenance. The more thankful we are in life, mas lalo tayong magiging masaya at mapagpasalamat sa mga blessings na natatanggap natin.

IMPORTANCE OF CONTENTMENT SA ATING BUHAY

1. CONTENTMENT WILL GIVE US PEACE OF MIND - You know, okay lang namang bumili ng mga bahay o sasakyan. In fact, it’s wonderful to have those things. But again, the satisfaction will not last long. On the other hand, being content in life will last long. Kapag kuntento tayo sa buhay, magkakaroon tayo ng peace of mind.

At kapag may peace of mind tayo, it will attract positivity in our life that can facilitate growth and self-improvement. Contentment only means to be at peace with the present situation.

2. CONTENTMENT WILL RESULT TO STRONGER RELATIONSHIPS - When we allow ourselves to be content, we are also telling ourselves to accept others as they are.

Accepting others and their flaws and being content with them can strengthen our relationship. Nabubuo rito ang trust and appreciation sa isa’t isa that also promotes growth and healing.

3. CONTENTMENT WILL HELP YOU DISTINGUISH YOUR WANTS AND NEEDS - Kapag kuntento tayo, mas nagiging malinaw sa atin yung mga wants and needs natin. We stick with the things na kailangan natin sa ating buhay. Contentment often leads sa realization that joy doesn’t come from material things. Instead, joy comes from deep within. The abundance of the present is enough to sustain a happy and healthy life.

4. CONTENTMENT PROMOTES SIMPLICITY - When we are able to distinguish our wants and needs, hindi na natin nao-overburden ang ating sarili. Hindi na tayo mai-stress from wanting more and more. When we are content with the present, it teaches us to be happy with what we have, kaunti man ito o marami.

Imbis na palaguin natin ang mga possessions natin, we start working on our personal growth. At the end of the day, mas importante pa rin ‘yun kaysa sa mga ari-arian.

5. CONTENTMENT PROMOTES HAPPINESS. - Dito natin matatagpuan ang tunay na kaligayahan. When we are content with the present, nale-let go na natin yung mga bagay na hindi natin kailangan sa buhay natin. As a result, acceptance settles in. Kapag tinanggap natin at naging masaya tayo sa sitwasyon natin, we are allowing ourselves to be happy.
