Adams Lite HA-8380 and Adams A1c HA-8190V uses High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) in detecting HbA1c levels in the sample, which is the most considered method of the IFCC and NGSP.

The Philippine Statistics Association (PSA) noted a significant surge of heart disease in 2021 comparing it to 2020 reports. Doctors believe that this is due to the immobility of people brought by the pandemic leading to long quarantine and lockdown periods which was aggravated by anxiety due to increased exposure to internet streaming.

A noticeable increase of 21% Diabetes case from around 39,000 in 2020 to 48,267 cases in 2021 is reported by the PSA.People with predisposing factors such as family history of heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension are mostly at risk. Therefore, diabetic patients need to properly manage their condition to avoid potential heart disease.

Activity promotion makes the body more sensitive to insulin, that will control diabetes by decreasing blood sugar levels and lowering the possibility of heart problem.

We like to share the performance of ARKRAY customers in the proficiency testing survey conducted by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) conducts two survey programs each year; one survey program followed by NGSP is the GH5 CAP Survey. In the GH5 CAP Survey, participating laboratories receive and analyse 5 different samples for 3 times a year. The 5 samples are blood samples with different %HbA1c.

The CAP survey evaluates laboratories’ performance through an external agency (i.e. CAP). It also provides an overview of the performance of HbA1c analysers from each manufacturer at the customers’ locations. For the first of three GH5 CAP Survey in 2022, ARKRAY is proud to announce that our ARKRAY ADAMS HA-8180 series analysers* from 28 laboratories achieved excellent results in the proficiency testing.

In addition, customers using ARKRAY ADAMS HA-8180 series analysers also achieved high accuracy in the survey. Mean measurement results of the reference materials by ARKRAY ADAMS HA-8180 series analysers are very close to their true values (as indicated by the low bias values) (Table 1). The results of CAP GH5 Survey thus show the high accuracy and high precision of ARKRAY ADAMS HA-8180 series analysers at our customers’ locations. These results are consistent with the certifications by IFCC and NGSP.

On top of that, comparison with customers using analysers from other manufacturers reveals that ARKRAY ADAMS HA-8180 series analysers have one of the highest accuracy and highest precision (highlighted by the red doted outlines). This is indicated by the closeness of the mean value (square dot) to the true value (i.e. high accuracy) and the narrow range of the error bars (i.e. high precision). The high performance by ARKRAY is maintained throughout the 5 samples with different %HbA1c.

These results thus provide further confidence to our partners that ARKRAY ADAMS analysers have one of the highest accuracy and highest precision on the market.

Excessive sugar consumption does not necessarily result to Diabetes. This is a chronic disease that is usually due to inability of the insulin to aid the movement of sugar into the cell resulting in its accumulation in the blood.
