FamilyCare's OBGYN is a VBAC advocate.

However before deciding to undergo VBAC the patient must understand that

1. It is not a fool-proof plan, we must be ready to abandon the procedure anytime if needed.

2. The prerequisites must be met such as
A. 1-2 previous CS only (not classical)
B. >18 months apart from previous CS
C. Must be in a hospital setting with an OBGYN and a team (on standby ready for CS)

3. Labor, ideally, should come naturally. Not induced.

Non stress test

This is a prenatal test that assessess fetal heart rate and movement. A REACTIVE result tells us that there is good OXYGEN supply to the fetus/baby.

If NST is NON REACTIVE, our OB might request more tests such as ultrasound or might want to admit you for monitoring.

How often do we do it? We start usually at 28-32 weeks and do it every other week or weekly for those who are high risk (GDM, High blood) then weekly for patients 37 weeks and above.

1. Pain, pressure, or cramping in your belly
Contractions that happen more than 4 times an hour or are less than 15 minutes apart
2. Leaking of fluid from the va**na
3. Vaginal bleeding
4. A lot of nausea and vomiting
5. Fever
6. Very bad headache or a headache that lasts for several days
8. New problems with your vision
9. Less movement and kicking by the baby
Sudden weight gain (3 to 5 pounds within 5 to 7 days) with a lot of swelling of your feet, ankles, face, or hands
10. Seizures

You should also call us if you have:

- Blood in your urine or burning and pain when you urinate
- Diarrhea
- Vaginal discharge with a bad odor, irritation, or itching
