Ito ay isinabatas ni dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo bilang Republic Act 9710 noong Agosto 14, 2009.

May layon itong alisin ang diskriminasyon laban sa kababaihan sa pamamagitan ng pagkilala, pagprotekta, pagtupad, at pagsulong ng mga karapatan ng mga kababaihan sa lahat ng aspeto ng lipunan.

The 𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝟰𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 received by each beneficiary, while the ICC and LIF provided 60% of the total amount.

The Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) is a DOLE-initiated program that provides job opportunities to students and OSYs from low-income families who want to earn money during their summer vacation to help fund their education while gaining work experience. Employers will pay 60 percent of the students' salary, with DOLE covering the remaining 40 percent.

Iligan City --- In celebration of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) 30th Anniversary, the agency will host a one-day Job Fair which offers 3,655 vacant jobs on 15 August 2024 at Level 3 Food Gallery, Robinsons Place, here.

In coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) Lanao del Norte Provincial Field Office (LDN PFO), Chief Criste O. Perfecto said other agency partners are (1) the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW); (2) Public Employment Service Office (PESO); (3) Education Development Center (EDC); and (4) the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Perfecto said 1,723 local job openings and 1,932 overseas vacancies will be available for jobseekers in the province and nearby areas.

Top local vacancies are (1) nurses or staff nurses with 311 openings; (2) managers or production managers (276); (3) various skilled roles (161); and (4) multi-welders (140).

Moreover, top overseas jobs available are (1) nurses or staff nurses with 400 openings; (2) Tig and Arc multi welder (140); (3) pipe fitter (125); and (4) constructions worker , mostly bound to Qatar countries.

Perfecto said during the Job Fair, Eagles Pharmahealth will offer free health consultations and assessment and assist the jobseekers’ registration on their Konsulta to avail the perks provided by PhilHealth’s health packages.

Job seekers are advised to bring multiple copies of their résumé, application letter, 2x2 ID picture, training and work experience certificates, passport photocopy (if applicable), transcript of records/board exam results/eligibility (if applicable), and other essential documents to maximize their chances of securing a position.

This job fair represents a significant opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers and is a testament on the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies dedicated to improving the employment of Filipino workers.
