During the training, teachers can learn various BLS techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and basic first aid. These skills enable them to respond effectively in emergencies such as cardiac arrest, choking, or other life-threatening situations. By training school teachers, who are already responsible for the well-being of students, you're enhancing their capabilities to provide immediate care until professional help arrives. This can significantly increase the chances of survival and improve outcomes for anyone in need of emergency assistance. Furthermore, having rescue volunteers within the school staff ensures a faster response time during emergencies, as they are already present on-site. This can be particularly valuable in situations where every second counts, such as cardiac arrests. Remember, BLS training should be conducted by qualified instructors and follow recognized guidelines, such as those provided by the American Heart Association (AHA) or other reputable organizations. It's essential to ensure the training is up-to-date and relevant to the specific needs of the school and community. By empowering school teachers with BLS skills, you're not only enhancing their own capabilities but also building a safer environment for everyone involved. #lhmontesorriblstraining #disasterpreparedness #volunteersmakeadifference #KayangKayaKungSamaSama #PCR

Celebration Disaster Resilience Month July 02, 2023 Parañaque Disaster Risk Reduction Office with Full support of NGOs, Private Sectors, Army reserves, and Disaster Accredited Volunteers. is an occasion dedicated to raising awareness about disaster resilience and promoting preparedness measures among individuals, communities, and organizations. While Disaster Resilience Month is not an established global observance as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, it is possible that it has been introduced or recognized since then. The purpose of celebrating Disaster Resilience Month is to emphasize the importance of being prepared for various types of disasters, including natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, wildfires, and man-made disasters such as industrial accidents or terrorist attacks. The focus is on building resilience at both the individual and community levels, ensuring that people have the necessary knowledge, resources, and plans in place to mitigate the impacts of disasters and recover quickly. During Disaster Resilience Month, various activities can be organized to promote disaster preparedness and resilience. These may include: Public awareness campaigns: Conduct public information campaigns to educate individuals about the risks they may face, steps to take before, during, and after a disaster, and the importance of preparedness. Training and workshops: Organizing workshops and training sessions to teach essential skills such as first aid, CPR, fire safety, search and rescue techniques, and emergency response procedures. Community drills and exercises: Conduct mock drills and exercises to simulate emergency situations, test response plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of preparedness measures. Information dissemination: Sharing informational materials, brochures, pamphlets, and guides about disaster preparedness and resilience to ensure widespread access to relevant knowledge. Collaboration with local authorities: Partneri

Learning how to swim can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Here are some general steps to help you get started: Find a safe and suitable swimming location: Look for a swimming pool with a shallow area or a calm body of water such as a lake or beach. Ensure there are lifeguards present if swimming in a public area. Get comfortable in the water: Start by getting accustomed to the water. Stand in the shallow end or use a flotation device if needed. Practice entering and exiting the water while maintaining balance and control. Learn basic floating: Learning to float is an essential skill in swimming. Practice floating on your back and stomach, keeping your body relaxed and your face above the water. Practice kicking: Kicking is important for propulsion and balance in swimming. While holding onto the pool's edge or a flotation device, practice kicking your legs. Keep your legs straight and alternate kicking from your hips, not your knees. Learn proper arm movements: Combine your kicking with proper arm movements. Practice the freestyle stroke (also known as the front crawl) by reaching forward with one arm, pulling it back through the water, and repeating with the other arm. Practice this motion while standing or floating in the water. Breath control: Breathing while swimming is crucial. In freestyle, rotate your head to the side as your arm comes out of the water, allowing you to take a breath. Exhale underwater to empty your lungs before turning your head to breathe again. Start swimming in deeper water: Once you're comfortable with the basic techniques, gradually move to deeper water. Continue practicing your floating, kicking, and arm movements while maintaining proper breathing. Build endurance and refine techniques: As you gain confidence, work on increasing your distance and endurance. Practice different strokes like breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly to expand your swimming skills. Take swimming lessons or get a swimming coach: Consider taki

Rescue volunteers are individuals who offer their time, skills, and resources to assist in emergency situations. They may be part of a larger rescue organization, such as the Red Cross or a local fire department, or they may volunteer independently. Rescue volunteers can be involved in a variety of activities, including search and rescue, providing first aid and medical assistance, assisting with evacuations, and providing support to disaster victims. Some common types of rescue volunteers include: Search and rescue volunteers: These individuals are trained to search for missing persons or individuals who are lost in wilderness areas, natural disasters, or other emergency situations. Medical volunteers: These individuals may be trained healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or paramedics, who provide medical care and support in emergency situations. Evacuation volunteers: These volunteers assist with the safe evacuation of individuals from disaster areas or other dangerous situations. Disaster response volunteers: These individuals assist with disaster relief efforts, such as providing food, water, shelter, and other basic necessities to disaster victims. Animal rescue volunteers: These individuals rescue and care for animals that have been abandoned, lost, or injured in emergency situations. Rescue volunteers play a critical role in emergency response efforts and can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters, accidents, or other emergencies.
