Last week we had an incredible session with the PEPTalk by Red Cross PH! A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this session a success. 🙌

During his Cambodia trip this week, our CEO Samuel Wilson took the time to visit the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh property for which TKHS previously provided turnkey pre-opening logistics services. The property is truly beautiful with its adaptation of colonial past together modern best class hospitality facilities. Joining him on the visit was TKHS Project Manager Ephraim Garbosa who personally managed the project on the ground.

Ephraim Garbosa just wrapped up a great trip to Thailand, where he connected with Jo Chaninahrak, Project Director at Tibken & Co. They explored some exciting potential collaborations on hotel projects across Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Plenty of opportunities ahead, and can't wait to see where these conversations lead! 🌍✈️

Our team had an incredible two-day QMS Documented Information Training & Workshop on August 27-28, 2024. 📅 Engr. Angelica C. Fraginal, Managing Director of ACF Consultancy and Training Services, led the sessions, sharing valuable insights and expertise.

Day 1 and Day 2 were filled with engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and essential learnings that will elevate our processes. Thank you, Engr. Fraginal, for an inspiring and insightful workshop! 🙌

Our CEO, Samuel Wilson, recently visited the 🎨 artwork installation project at Nustar Resort & Casino in Cebu, Philippines. It was inspiring to see the progress and the incredible work being done by our team. We’re excited to see the final result! 🌟

🚢 Have Spot Rates Peaked?

There are signs that steep container spot rate increases may be coming to an end. Recent data suggests pricing may be starting to level off.

According to Xeneta & Drewry, average spot rates from the Far East to the US East Coast rose 3.7% on 15 July to $10,045 per FEU, and rates to the US West Coast increased 2% to $8,045 per FEU. This trend is also seen in Far East to Europe rates.

Over recent months, rate hikes have been staggered, usually occurring at the beginning or middle of the month. However, this week the market didn't respond as expected, indicating we may be near the peak.

Spot rates are expected to stabilize in August. While costs remain high, the smaller rate increases suggest that prices could begin to ease. Forward booking times have reduced from four weeks to three weeks, likely due to extra capacity, which may help lower or stabilize rates longer.
