Today marks the 77th Anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter.

There is no other global organization with the legitimacy, convening power and normative impact of the United Nations. No other global organization gives hope to so many people for a better world and can deliver the future we want. Today, the urgency for all countries to come together, to fulfil the promise of the nations united, has rarely been greater.

UN Day, celebrated every year, offers the opportunity to amplify our common agenda and reaffirm the purposes and principles of the UN Charter that have guided us for the past 77 years.

Even the sight of wriggling fingers can cause squeals, if not screams, from the ticklish among us. However, we are not the only race capable of giving such a reaction. Now, a rat study identifies the "tickle center" of the mammalian brain and demonstrates for the first time that stimulating neurons in that area can cause an outburst of ultrasonic squeaks, which is equivalent to human laughter.

According to Ishiyama, a neuroscientist, rats exhibit a well-known indication of delight called "joy jumps" as their expression of pleasure, just like other species such as dogs, cats, and human children. 🐁

It was not easy to tickle rats effectively. Ishiyama even had to spend weeks for the rats to get used to being tickled to release chuckling reactions. So, if you're curious and want to try it yourself, then you need to train your rat patiently and consistently. That's why, although tickling rats is interesting, tickling someone beside you is more engaging!✨

❗Do Not Be the Victim of Discouragement ❗

Hindi mo kailangang maging perpekto sa lahat.
Hindi kailangang maging perpekto ng lahat.

Kung natatakot ka, kung pinanghihinaan ka, kung nawawalan ka na ng pag-asa - let it all out, walang masamang mag-rant at mag-unwind. Because the more you say it, the less power it has over you.

Kaya CHIEFS! Because remember, the disapproval of cowards is praise for the brave. You are brave.

Now, sabihin mo sa sarili mo na “kaya ko ‘to, kaya mo ‘to!”. Malakas ka, matatag ka. You can do it Chiefs!

The future of humanity is at risk as Earth will eventually run out of resources to sustain life eternally. The Sun will keep on getting brighter and hotter over the next hundreds of millions of years which will cause the temperature to be high enough to evaporate our oceans in just over 2 billion years. Moreover, as the Sun gets older, the Earth will eventually receive more solar energy that will affect the planet's surface. Then, less photosynthesis will take place as carbon dioxide levels drop, and certain plant species may even become extinct. Thus, making life on Earth impossible.

Although it will not happen during our lifetime, or may its rate of change is so slow to be noticed, it does not change the fact that our planet will meet its end and turn into a desert, just like the planet Mars.

So, Chiefs, since we still have a lifetime in our hands, let's not waste this time on things that don't matter. Live your life to the fullest in a responsible and eco-friendly way.

By the way, we suggest that you guys use Ecosia as your search engine, where, in exchange for your searches, they actually plant trees and remove approximately 0.5 kilograms of CO2 from the atmosphere.

It's Friday again, Chiefs! How's the week? We hope that everyone is doing good. Since it's the time of the week, we are here to share some cool trivia before this weekend!

Did you know that jellyfish are thousands of millions of years older than dinosaurs?

Yes, you've read it right. Jellyfish don't have bones making it rare to find jellyfish fossils; that is why no one knew before how old exactly jellyfish are. However, a group of scientists from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History discovered jellyfish fossils from 505 million years ago in 2007. And upon studying the jellyfish fossils, the known occurrence of jellyfish from 300 million years ago had become three times older than the dinosaurs. Amazing, right?

Since jellyfish have been in existence for at least 600 million years, they are the oldest multi-organ animal group. With this number of years, scientists even can conclude that one species may become immortal, cheating death and living eternally.

For more trivia, tune in every Monday and Friday for weekly updates.

📌Egocentricity

📋The term Egocentricity comes from Jean Piaget's theory of childhood development. It refers to someone's inability to understand another person's view or opinion that may be different than their own. Egocentricity simply describes someone who is self-centered and unable to consider any opinion other than their own.

Egocentrism and narcissism are not the same. An egocentric person feel that they are the center of attention, yet they are not satisfied with the attention they have received from other people.

📎Example:
The common egocentricity of young people in this generation often leads to selfishness that can hurt others just to satisfy their own needs.

To all our parents at school, we greet you, Happy World Teachers' Day!

It was on October 5, 1966, when the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared that we will be celebrating World Teachers' Day every October 5 of each year. It is to highlight the achievements of all educators around the globe and to appreciate their roles in the future of every generation. This event is celebrated worldwide but it is not considered a non-working holiday in the Philippines. Some schools hold an event wherein teachers or faculty members have their whole day to rest and not teach their students and their only duty is to receive gifts and have fun chattering with people in their schools. A day where they can feel more relaxed after the hardships in teaching.

“The transformation of education begins with teachers”. This is the 2022 theme to recognize our educators around the world. It is to give respect and to acknowledge their hard work even during the Covid-19 pandemic. This day is to recognize their sleepless nights and unresting days to teach and give knowledge to their students even during and after the crisis. They do it not just because of their job but also because of their passion – to feed their students with knowledge that they would surely use for their future.

Once again, we, Chiefs, thank our teachers for all their love, sacrifices, and hard work for us. A virtual hug for all of you! Maraming Salamat po! 💙❤️

CHIEFS, keep in mind that our struggles prepare us for the bigger things in life. We are only rewarded things that we are capable of handling — we cannot handle a successful life without knowing struggle.

In achieving the life of our dreams, we must learn to recognize the fact that our hardships are necessary in our life's journey to success. So, keep your head up and hold onto your aspirations as reasons to keep going — to never give up on the future life has in store for you.

"𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬.“
- Laura Ingalls Wilder

Every first Monday of October, we celebrate World Habitat Day. Homes build lives and strengthen the future. This is exactly the sentiment World Habitat Day celebrates. This day aims to spread knowledge of the basic right to shelter and remind people that they are also responsible for the habitat of future generations.

With the growing problem of inequality and challenges in cities and human settlements, World Habitat Day 2022 with the theme “Mind the Gap. Leave no one and place behind", seeks to draw attention to the growing inequalities and vulnerabilities that have been exacerbated by the triple ‘C’ crises – COVID-19, Climate, and Conflict. Statistics have shown that over 1.6 billion people in the world are in a housing crisis where they live in houses deemed substandard. In addition, another 100 million people are homeless. This is one of the reasons for the UN to call the world's attention to this crisis and to come up with ways of solving the problem. The most important thing is to preserve the world we live in. We all deserve a safe and decent home. We, the present generation are the ones who are responsible for making this world a better place. Of course, with the help of good governance, it will be possible to make a solution to get rid of the rising poverty in the world.

So, chiefs! we need your cooperation in raising awareness on World Habitat Day. We all love our homes, don’t we? The habitat we live in cannot speak, so We must and We Will. Here are three ways we can observe World Habitat Day:
1. Raise awareness
2. Support local housing initiatives
3. Volunteer in habitat building initiatives

“We may never be strong enough to be entirely non-violent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep non-violence as our goal and make strong progress towards it”
- Mahatma Gandhi

The International Day of Non-Violence 🕊is declared to be celebrated annually every 2nd day of October, held at the same time as Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. This occasion is commemorated by the United Nations 🇺🇳 to "disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness".
Here's why this day is celebrated: it is celebrated in order to raise awareness and to look back on the influence of Mahatma Gandhi's work and legacy in impacting the whole world 🌎 for his non-violent protest to achieve India’s independence and for being the pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence.

So CHIEFS ❗ Let’s not waste our time and show appreciation for this day’s importance and do this by observing the International Day of Non-Violence:

1. Read up on Gandhi
2. Use this day as an opportunity to take non-violent action to make your voice heard.🗣
3. Go for a random act of kindness
