[Updated as of 25 April 2020, 1000hrs GMT+8] Travel Advisory: AirAsia cancels flights as PH government extends enhanced community quarantine

Following the Philippine government’s directive of extending the community quarantine period in Luzon and parts of the country, AirAsia is cancelling all domestic and international Z2 flights until 15 May 2020.

All affected guests will be promptly notified via email or SMS. AirAsia strongly encourages guests to update their contact details using the “My Bookings” feature on airasia.com to ensure that they receive timely notifications.

AirAsia is making provisions for guests affected by the flight cancellations and travel restrictions following the Philippine government’s latest directive. Guests with existing flight bookings made on or before 24 April 2020 with a departure date between 23 March and 30 June 2020 will now be able to select from a range of extended flexibility options for future travel.

Eligible guests can now select from the following flexible travel options immediately, using the airline’s AI chatbot AVA on support.airasia.com or airasia.com:

1. Unlimited flight change: Change to any new travel date before 31 October 2020 on the same route for an unlimited number of times without any additional cost subject to seat availability; OR

2. Credit account: Retain the value of the flight booking in the guest’s AirAsia BIG Member account for future travel with AirAsia to be redeemed within 365 calendar days from the issuance date. The travel date of the new booking can fall on any date within the published flight schedule on airasia.com.

🔐 Kung aalisin ang lockdown sa April 30, 2020, siguradong dadami ang mahahawaan. Hindi kakayanin ng mga ospital at health workers. Magko-collapse ang health care system ng bansa. Madaming mamamatay at hindi rin kakayanin ng mga punerarya.

🔓 Kung hindi aalisin ang lockdown, maraming magugutom. Hindi natin alam kung ano ang magiging takbo ng pag-iisip ng mga tao kapag gutom. Hindi magiging sapat ang pondo ng gobyerno para sa ayuda. Kasabay nito ang pagbagsak ng ekonomiya ng bansa. Asahan na rin ang pagtaas ng krimen.

Isang solusyon ay kung may gamot o bakuna laban sa Covid-19 na tatapos sa pandemic. Pero malabong mangyari yun sa loob ng 6 na buwan o kahit isang taon pa.

Ang kinakaharap ng Pangulo ngayon ay naiiba sa problemang kinaharap ng mga nagdaang presidente. Isang maling desisyon ay maaaring milyon-milyon ang mamamatay sa atin.

Maski ano sa dalawa ang kanyang maging desisyon tiyak na sa kanya ibabalik ang sisi ng matatamaan.

Nagsisimula pa lang tayo na pumasok sa bangungot. Paakyat pa lang ang bilang ng mga covid cases dahil kauumpisa pa lang dumami ang mga accredited testing centers kaya malayo pa tayo sa sinasabing flattening of the curve.

Tumulong na lang tayo sa pangulo. Manatili nasa loob ng bahay, mag social distancing at sundin mga pinapayo ng DOH.

Hindi ito ang panahon para magsisihan at murahan. Wag muna magreklamo. Lahat nahihirapan. No politicking!

At kung ano man maging desisyon ni pangulo ay sana sa ikabubuti ng kalahatan o nakararami.
