FORECAST:
Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains due to Southwest Monsoon.
The Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.
The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.
Moderate to Strong winds from the Southwest will prevail over the Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro and Western Visayas with moderate to rough seas.
Light to Moderate winds from Southwest will prevail over the rest of Visayas with slight to moderate seas.

As of June 6, 2024, the latest Air Quality Status within the Metro Iloilo Airshed showed FAIR QUALITY for Pavia and Iloilo City – Parola Wharf Station, while GOOD AIR QUALITY rating was recorded over stations in La Paz, Iloilo City and Oton Station. This is in terms of Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) parameter readings. PM10 are very small particles which have a diameter of 10 micrometers (0.01 mm) or smaller.

This indicates that the air quality remained satisfactory, following the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon on June 3, 2024. This confirms that the existing air quality within the metro poses little or no risk to the community. Although the readings of PM10 are at normal level, the vulnerable groups including persons with respiratory diseases are advised to take extra precautionary measures. Air quality varies in time and place and can change anytime depending on pollution sources and meteorological factors. EMB 6 will continue to provide updates in the next bulletin

Cause:
One of our bulk water suppliers will conduct a temporary shutdown in Pumping Station No. 8 in Oton, Iloilo. The 7-hour shutdown is intended to repair the leaks discovered within the said pumping station.

Customers in the areas mentioned may experience low pressure to no water supply. Normal water service is expected to gradually return after said activity.

IN PHOTOS: Members of the Pavia DRRM Council under the Chairmanship of Mayor Laurence Anthony Gorriceta convened for its second 4th Quarter Council Meeting on December 20, 2023.

Tri-Partite Memorandum of Agreement for the Operation of Automated Rain Gauges and Water Level Sensors in Aganan-Salog River Basin was finalized while the proposed Resolution supporting the passage of the Magna Carta for Public DRRM Workers was presented and approved.

The Council members were also recognized for their collective wisdom and guidance that were instrumental to the LGU's “Beyond Compliant” rating in the recently concluded Gawad KALASAG.
